The place has changed dramatically over the years and not...

The place has changed dramatically over the years and not necessarily in a good way. The new houses are all massive and it is very overpopulated. The beach was a big disappointment due to the severe mass of debris, like plastic etc. that washed up from the ocean.

Great to visit Yzerfontein.

Great to visit Yzerfontein. Had a good morning on the beach, walking about the town and going to the harbour. Enjoyed swimming in the icy ocean. Could have had an extra day to visit some of the restaurants and stores. We stayed a few kms out of town, but next time will look to stay on the beachfront or nearby.

had the best time at De Vuurtoren. The place looked even better in person than in the photos. The decor was beautiful, calm, and inviting, and you can tell how much love went into setting up every detail. Everything was spotless and well maintained, which made the stay feel easy and comfortable. The owner was lovely. She was kind, warm, and went out of her way to make me feel welcome. You don’t often meet people who care that much about their guests, and her energy made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the location was perfect for a quiet getaway. Mornings were filled with light and fresh air, and the evenings felt calm and homely. The bed was comfortable, the space was relaxing, and everything worked perfectly. I didn’t want to leave when it was time to check out. It’s one of those places that stays with you long after you’ve left. I’d recommend De Vuurtoren to anyone visiting Yzerfontein, it’s a place you’ll want to come back to.

Great views of beaches and sea.

Great views of beaches and sea. Great location for seeing several really beautiful sites with abundance of colourful nature. Hardly anyone else at each great site we visited. NB be prepared to park off road and walk. Weather was great for walks.

I recently visited Yzerfontein, and what a lovely surprise it turned out to be, The town has such a peaceful charm, and the locals were genuinely warm and welcoming. Strolling along the long, quiet beach or grabbing a coffee at a crazy cafe, there's a sense of calm and friendliness everywhere. A hidden gem by the sea - Yzerfontein

Derek's place is spacious and comfortable. It's situated in a beautiful, tranquil town and the beach is a short walk away. Derek was ever ready to assist with anything that was needed and the people of Yzerfontein were very friendly. There is a store just downstairs from the accommodation and cafés on either side, making it quite convenient and not at all noisy or unappealing. We absolutely loved our time spent at Derek's place.

Lovely part of Yzerfontein. The property was cozy and comfortable. It was also modern and exceptionally clean. We really loved the open plan lounge and kitchen and little braai inside. There was a nice little starter pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and even fire lighters and wood. And the air fryer was a bonus!

It was very peaceful, impeccably clean, and comfortable and we felt safe. Security lighting was great especially when visiting the ablution facilities. A great place to feed one’s soul. The location was perfect to enjoy a sea breeze coming from Yzerfontein and an awesome view.
