Shivapuri is a very special unique place, catering to all types of travellers. This is the second time that I am staying at Shivapuri and it feels like home. The owners and staff are beyond accommodating and helpful and kind. Every time I have stayed here I choose the tent option because they are the most cosy, luxury and spacious tents I have ever stayed in and the views of the surrounding hills and Kathmandhu are incredible ! I chose this place because it offers a place to rest away from the intensity of the city but not so far away that you can't get into town easily. It really is set in the most perfect location, you can choose if you want to spend the day in nature or visit the temples in Kathmandu centre. The food is exceptional, all home grown and home made and catered to your every need. I cannot recommend this place more, I will definitely come back here when I return to Nepal, it is perfect for travelling alone or with your loved ones. Thank you Shivapuri for making my stay so happy and welcoming and I look forward to visiting again soon !

I loved staying in the middle of Patan, high up overlooking the temple roofs and the valley. The hosts were very attentive and kind. The apartment was comfortable, well equipped, with a touch of traditional style. They had great wifi and a battery for powercuts which allowed to work online comfortably.

A wonderful place with wonderful views of the surrounding valleys, Himalayan peaks (if there is visibility), stunning, green fruit and strawberry fields around. I dare say that the best place to reset in the Kathmandu area. Very good breakfast and a la carte dishes. Excellent and friendly service. We will definitely come back.

Joy Source Resort is a unique place to stay not far from Kathmandu, where I ate fresh home-grown food, stayed in a big, comfortable room and enjoyed a beautiful scenery that surrounded me. It is the people who makes the place, though. They are kind and welcoming and make the place even more special. The school that is funded by the community project is incredible and is an example of what hard work and good ideas can create. I will always remember my stay and hope to return some day.
