The location has a beautiful view. It is close to downtown but also close to walking trails. When contacting the owner with questions they were quick to answer. We had access to a washer and dryer as well as a full kitchen. We did not use the hot tub due to our schedule and some weather, but it was also available. Check out instructions were clear and easy to follow. This home was our base, and it was easy to travel to all the destinations we desired to visit without needing to repack and move to another location each night.

The Glass House was a great space for my wife and I to spent the last four nights of our 3-week Iceland trip. It's perfectly setup for two people, with plenty of space to spread out, and located in a small grouping of other summer homes that give the feeling of the peaceful Icelandic countryside while only being a short distance to Reykjavík. The house itself is brand new and extremely clean, with a calm and serene color palette and huge windows for viewing the beautiful forest trees surrounding the property. We both really loved the geothermal hot tub, and spent each night listening to the snipes drumming and loons calling from nearby fields and lakes. Having a washing machine was very convenient, and the wifi was nice and fast (we work while we travel). We had a small issue upon arrival— the host quickly responded within minutes and was very helpful to resolve (even very late at night). I could tell that they care about their guests' experience, which was really appreciated. We visit Iceland often, and definitely plan to book The Glass House again on future trips! TIP: The nearby road (435) is a really fun drive in the summer, as you head toward Þingvallavatn— don't miss it! (I believe it's closed October - May)

Das Haus ist recht gemütlich eingerichtet und die Ausstattung ist noch recht neu. Das Haus war akzeptabel sauber - es war nicht dreckig aber es gab überraschend viel Staub an diversen Stellen. Die Küche war gut ausgestattet, so dass wir uns problemlos selbstversorgen konnten. In der nächsten Ortschaft gibt es mehere Supermärkte - das macht das Einkaufen für isländische Verhältnisse sehr entspannt. Das Haus liegt recht naturnah und ruhig. In knapp 30 Minuten ist man trotzdem mit dem Auto in der Innenstand von Reykjavik. Das ist super für Tagesausflüge und abneds ist man wieder in der ruhigen Gegend. Alternativ kann man direkt von der Haustüre auf dieverse Wanderungen durch schöne Natur machen. Genial. Neben dem Haus gibt es einen kleinen Hühnerstall mit 5-6 Hühnern. Aufgepasst: offenbar können die Hühner den Stall verlassen und sind recht neugierig.

Decoration is beautiful, the kitchen is great and the house is very confortable. It is not that far from Reykiavik but it is in an isolated and relaxed area.

This is an absolutely beautiful, recently renovated little house in a lovely neighborhood. The kitchen is well equipped, there is ample space to organize one's luggage, the bath towels are new and white, and parking is easy.. It is located in an ideal location to explore Reykjavik and its vicinity. Einar is a perfect host.

The quiet location on the lakefront was so peaceful, but still close to Reykjavík, shopping/food options, and activities! We loved having a coffee at the kitchen table and watching the birds and water right outside each morning. The cabin was well equipped for a comfortable stay including kitchen supplies. We also enjoyed the barrel sauna with the equally magnificent view!
