Downstairs was floor seating and a very low couch with many cushions and two beanbag chairs as well as a kotatsu table for warmth, though heating was adequate. The kitchen was very well equipped and there were drip coffee bags, tea, and basic condiments as well as oil. The restaurant next door was exceptional and fun!

Shino’s place is warm and comfortable, and the food was truly the highlight. We requested dinner, breakfast, and a lunch box—having a hot dinner after a long day of hiking was such a treat. Shino prepared breakfast for us at her restaurant before we caught the bus to the next trailhead, and it was delicious, especially the muffins. Her restaurant is right across the street from the bus stop we needed for the next day, which made the morning incredibly convenient. Shino was very helpful in answering our trail questions and even suggested purchasing our bus tickets online, providing clear instructions on how to do so. Overall, I highly recommend staying here during your hike!

And my favourite cake, a cheesecake, made by Yutaka, with homemade blueberry jam. What a treat :-). And talking of goats, we went with Giovanni in the morning to feed and milk his herd: beautiful white goats, with baby goats as well. A great experience we all enjoyed and especially the kids. I highly recommend this place for the charm of the house, the delicious food and the experience of living in the countryside.

But becareful when you arrive after 6pm as the part of the way to the house is really dark without street light. Better prepare torch.

We would definitely stay here again.
