Run by a local family, Villa Shade is a charming and peaceful property surrounded by green gardens, just 4 km from Negombo City. Bicycles are available for rent, while traditional Sri Lankan breakfast is served upon request at an extra cost. Everything went very smoothly here, from the late night airport pick up we arranged via the hotel right up to our departure the next day. This made a big difference after a long day of travel with young children. The family villa was clean and comfortable with good AC and we had a great sleep. Loved waking up to the sound of birds singing in the morning. The breakfast of hoppers, local fruit etc was delicious. The well established and maintained gardens made for a relaxing setting and the kids enjoyed climbing up the treehouse, playing basketball etc. Everyone there was very friendly from the owner to the staff. Highly recommend Villa Shade.
