I will tell anyone coming to Sri Lanka - stay with Ravi at Margosa Mountain Villa. Best stay on our trip and top 5 lifetime. Stunning setting. Perfect room. Delicious food -organic rice, fruit, fish etc. right from the property, expertly cooked by Ravi’s wife Sewwandi. Pool is sublime. Birds galore (and easy to find and ID with Ravi’s help). Booked for two days. Stayed for 4. Great spot for excursions Dambulla, Sigiriya, and beyond, but we were happy just to relax and meditate on our good fortune to be there. Ravi spent 23 years as tour guide and it shows both in his care and expertise. I know this review sounds like a plug from one of his friends but I promise that 5 days ago we’d never met. But, yes, we have definitely made a new friend. Stay as long as you can.

This place is a rare find in Sri Lanka. Trust the pictures, it is everything that is shown and more. The green view from the coziest terrace is so vivid, it was eye popping. Great breakfasts and hospitality. The owner is a man of many talents.

Beautiful tree house!! Very quiet and peaceful area with wonderful tree surrounded! Good size room and all what you need is there. Staff is friendly and helpful.

This is a great stop of for visiting the nearby safari. Everything was great. A real family atmosphere where everyone tries to make your stay as memorable as possible. They arranged a Valentines surprise for us, a cooking course which was incredible and thorough and also a great safari. Lovely big cool room too. Wonderful value too.

This property was exactly what was needed after a long haul flight. A peaceful sanctuary with a team who went over and beyond to ensure our comfort. The setting is just beautiful and is the perfect ambience to adjust and reset. The pool was the perfect temperature too. The Spice Garden is beautiful and make sure to do the complimentary your with the guide (who is a fountain of knowledge). We learnt so much and he was brilliant with our four year old. Seeing her excited over plants and spices was so special! Food was delicious and they accommodated our needs very well including a gluten free diet. The staff went over and beyond to accommodate us, even setting up dinner on our terrace at the last minute when our daughter had fallen asleep just before we weee due to go to the restaurant. I couldn’t recommend this place more for its warm hospitality and beautiful setting.

1. Hotel is fresh and new and of really a good quality. Nothing experienced heavy usage like in Riff - the only real 5* competitor on Hikka beach 2. I got Deluxe suite with Seaview for the price of a regular room cos the hotel just started to work and had not much of guests. 3. Room has excellent sleeping conditions which is rare on Shri: blind curtains & you can sleep with ac on without a risk to catch cold. Priceless.

Everything about this boutique hotel & retreat is exceptional! It is a luxurious private paradise where you can relax & rejuvenate. The location is excellent and the rooms are spacious and beautifully designed. The thought and care shown by Janaka (the hotel manager) and his wife go above and beyond & the cuisine is fabulous. Staying here will be a highlight of your time in Sri Lanka. We look forward to our next visit!

Very beautiful garden, located in the heart of hikkaduwa, but just far enough to feel alone .

An amazing experience in all aspects. The room was great, the food delicious, the hosts super friendly, the tour was wonderful and the view from the guesthouse was among the best I can imagine. Absolutely recommend staying here!
