I will tell anyone coming to Sri Lanka - stay with Ravi at Margosa Mountain Villa. Best stay on our trip and top 5 lifetime. Stunning setting. Perfect room. Delicious food -organic rice, fruit, fish etc. right from the property, expertly cooked by Ravi’s wife Sewwandi. Pool is sublime. Birds galore (and easy to find and ID with Ravi’s help). Booked for two days. Stayed for 4. Great spot for excursions Dambulla, Sigiriya, and beyond, but we were happy just to relax and meditate on our good fortune to be there. Ravi spent 23 years as tour guide and it shows both in his care and expertise. I know this review sounds like a plug from one of his friends but I promise that 5 days ago we’d never met. But, yes, we have definitely made a new friend. Stay as long as you can.

We had the most amazing time at Leel’s Safari cottage! The room was perfect—super clean, beautifully designed, with air conditioning and a hot water. You can really tell how much effort they put into making everything just right. It felt so cozy and welcoming. The garden outside was lovely—well-kept, peaceful, and such a nice place to relax. And the food… wow! The meals cooked by Leel’s mom and his wife were the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Thank you both for making every meal so special! We also did the sunrise safari with Leel, and it was incredible🌅 He’s so professional and knows the park so good. He explained everything so calmly and made sure we didn’t miss anything. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you so much, Leel, for an unforgettable stay. We enjoyed everything about it. It was quiet and so peaceful. The room was clean and well maintained. Everyone on the staff was top notch. They were helpful and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. One of the nicest places we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka!

This is a great stop of for visiting the nearby safari. Everything was great. A real family atmosphere where everyone tries to make your stay as memorable as possible. They arranged a Valentines surprise for us, a cooking course which was incredible and thorough and also a great safari. Lovely big cool room too. Wonderful value too.

This property was exactly what was needed after a long haul flight. A peaceful sanctuary with a team who went over and beyond to ensure our comfort. The setting is just beautiful and is the perfect ambience to adjust and reset. The pool was the perfect temperature too. The Spice Garden is beautiful and make sure to do the complimentary your with the guide (who is a fountain of knowledge). We learnt so much and he was brilliant with our four year old. Seeing her excited over plants and spices was so special! Food was delicious and they accommodated our needs very well including a gluten free diet. The staff went over and beyond to accommodate us, even setting up dinner on our terrace at the last minute when our daughter had fallen asleep just before we weee due to go to the restaurant. I couldn’t recommend this place more for its warm hospitality and beautiful setting.

Over two weeks of traveling across this beautiful island, this place stood out as paradise on earth. The hospitality was unmatched, with Mr. Janaka and his wonderful staff are going above and beyond to make our stay truly special. The super comfortable suites, elegant furniture, stunning surroundings, and an extraordinary swimming pool set the stage for relaxation. Everything was immaculately clean, the breakfasts were amazing, and the tranquil location offered a perfect escape. This destination promises a unique, memorable vacation experience, and I can't wait to return. Highly recommended!

A small boutique place in a quite area close to the main beach area. Well proportioned rooms that are cleaned daily. The hotel owners Peter and Glenda are superb hosts. The breakfast is fantastic, better than a 5 star hotel.

This is a small family run business with very good rooms and food. The host can also be your guide for Sinharaja, is knowledgeable and has excellent English.
