An ancient crossroads of civilisations and cultures, Oman offers intrepid travellers the chance to engage with an Arab country that’s refreshingly humble. Its varied landscapes leave a treat for the eyes, with unspoiled stretches of coastline strewn with white-sand beaches. Mudbrick villages cling to the side of rocky valleys. Soaring mountain ranges are sliced with bottomless canyons, while the great Wahiba Sand Dunes seem to ripple endlessly into the desert. All this is spread across three huge regions. The northernmost is home to Muscat, Oman’s chaotic capital. Here you can find a myriad of old forts, grand mosques and royal palaces – some explorable on foot, others requiring a little more effort to reach. To escape the crowds, take a day trip to Nakhal Fort, a stone-carved citadel found at the foot of the Hajar Mountains. These towering peaks stretch all the way to the United Arab Emirates, hiding riverbed oases and jagged fjords. In the southern region, the palm-fringed beaches of Salalah make for an ideal retreat after the long, dusty journey down the coast. Accommodation options are aplenty here, with a range of hotel resorts and simple guesthouses to choose from in the bigger cities and coastal towns.

Everything was perfect. The staff worked hard to make your stay perfect. The camp is located far from the city in the heart of the desert. The rooms were clean and tidy to a high standard. Dinner and breakfast were very plentiful and delicious. In the morning, Khalid took us on a tour to explore Bedouin life and traditional living up close. It is worth the visit. We hope to return again.

The camp is very nice. The location in the middle of desert. Bader was an excellent host. He took us in a nice experience crossing the sand and rode camels. The breakfast was delicious and we ordered dinner and his mother cooked it and it was very delicious. The atmosphere in the camp is family and comfortable. The room is clean and comfy.

The property is beautiful. It feels (as the owner hopes it will) like a home away from home. But it also feels like a calm and lush Oasis in the middle of the desert mountains next to a lively little city. Everything is a combination of new and/or well thought out, and it's clear Ahmed has taken great care to craft a wonderful experience for his guests. He's there when you need him but will leave you to yourselves otherwise.
It's been a long time since I experienced this type of traditional Arab hospitality at a hotel (was my partner's first time experiencing it). Staying here was a delight.
It's also a really convenient location -- about 50 minutes from Wadi Damm / 90 minutes from Bat/Al Ayn Beehives... 15 minutes from Misfat al Abriyeen... 40 minutes from Nizwa... and he's arranged so you can get really yummy local food delivered from a nearby restaurant.

What a unique spot to experience the desert. Surrounded by dunes, in a very confortable, clean tent, with all the privacy you could want. And if you needed anything, the genuinly friendly staff is there to help. We were greeted by Issa, who is very welcoming and shows great hospitality.
A must do if you consider exploring the desert.

Unique Experience!!
It was such an amazing stay. We actually arrived quite late (around 8:30 pm), but the owner waited for us and helped us out with the care since our car got stuck in the sands. Dinner was prepared which we ate in front of our room. The room itself was super cute, well equipped with lovely details. We opened up the curtains and were able to see the desert by night. We woke up by sunrise, which was incredible!! Super quiet, peaceful and lovely moment being able to see sunrise in the desert on our own from bed. Had breakfast on our terrace, took a nice walk, did zip lining and spent some time with camels.
Absolut amazing!
Make sure to arrive early to see sunset (not as we did) and check out the “cinema” option. The camp and the owner are putting a lot of effort to offer us as guests an absolut amazing experience.
As we went through other reviews: please not that you are in the middle of nowhere, so of course there is no signal (which is such a nice feeling), water is not as easy to regulate and you can’t expect a European breakfast buffet - but that’s exactly why you go to the middle of the desert. So just enjoy it.
