Spending a night at Lake Ihema Lodge which is perfectly positioned 8km away from the incredible Akagera National Park was a truly refreshing experience. The lodge’s location near Lake Ihema and the park offered stunning views and a peaceful ambiance, perfect for unwinding after a day of safari in the park. The highlight of my stay was definitely the rooms. Spacious, well-designed, and impeccably clean, they provided a perfect balance of comfort and nature. The décor blended seamlessly with the surroundings, and the large windows allowed me to wake up to breathtaking views of the park. Falling asleep to the distant sounds of wildlife made the experience even more magical. Not to mention the breathtaking sunrises you get to wake up to over the expanse of Lake Ihema. The staff were welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every detail of my stay was well taken care of. The meals were delicious and thoughtfully prepared, served in an open-air setting that enhanced the overall experience. Whether you’re in Akagera for a safari or simply looking for a peaceful retreat, Lake Ihema Lodges is a fantastic choice. With its comfortable and scenic accommodation, excellent service, and proximity to nature, it’s a place I’d love to return to.

Bumpy, dirt road to the facility is worth to travel to reach this gem. Friendly staff, excellent and well priced food, overall impeccable cleanliness. Rooms in the form of bungalows with lake view (just 20 m away from the shore), with tea and coffee making facilities. You wake up to the sound of birds and fishermen singing in their boats. Paradise for bird watchers. Calm and relaxing - strongly recommended!

This guest house is lovely, the outside terracee with the garden is very pleasant, the room was well equiped and furnished with nice decoration and very clean. Overall Villa Asimba is very welcoming. Its secret asset is the kindness of the two sisters that run it, they were very kind, available and ready to help for any request. I have not eaten lunch or dinner but can confirm that the breakfast was very good. The place is quiet, slept like a baby for the 4 nights spent there!

Lovely place, well located, amazing staff, very good food, comfortable common areas and rooms, attention to detail including boot cleaning, foot massages, bed warmers, nice fireplace in room, bathrobes and slippers, tea in room, lovely garden, etc.

I cannot even express the gratitude I have for people and this place! They went above and beyond, do not hesitate to stay here, dont bother looking anywhere else, this is the place to stay, the rooms are immaculate, they washed our clothes, prepared our food which tasted phenomenal, I dream about the tilapia! They went all out for my husbands birthday, arranged for halal meat! Wow! Couldn't believe it! Best hotel ive ever stayed in, truly and I have travelled the world, they even organised our tour for the national park, exceptional! Will definitely be back and recommend to everyone! Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart!

An exceptional beautiful and peaceful location. A place to relax and enjoy the scenery and met lovely people. A very good design, clean and spacy lodges. Owner with real values of life with commitment to the surrounding communities We even request our own food to the chief cooker. Can't wait to go back.

I absolutely loved everything about this property. Everyone is super friendly. Even got a little gift which I have been wearing every day since. The food was delicious - big portions. There was hot water and the shower was great. I can honestly not fault a single thing. It is a really peaceful environment.
