There’s a remarkable transformation taking place in Rwanda, a country once overshadowed by it's history. From the skyward mountains and lush rainforests to green cities and countryside villages, the sense of optimism is impossible to ignore. Its inspirational tale of revival is no more apparent than in Kigali, the booming capital. Here, roads are clean, plastic bags are banned, parks are tidy and widespread. It’s all thanks to a monthly community cleanup called ‘Umuganda’, in which every Rwandan living in Kigali – including the president himself – gets involved. Time your trip right, and you can help too. Nestled in the corners of this landlocked country are several pristine national parks. Hike along the trails of Nyungwe Forest, one of Africa’s largest protected rainforests, and track chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Or chill on the shores of Lake Kivu, with its quiet beaches and rocky coves. But Rwanda’s most spectacular attraction lies to the north-west: the steamy forests of Volcanoes National Park – home to wild troops of mountain gorillas. You can find a range of hotels and guesthouses spread through Rwanda, though the bulk are located in Kigali and towns near national parks. There are also some lodges available by Lake Kivu.

Bumpy, dirt road to the facility is worth to travel to reach this gem. Friendly staff, excellent and well priced food, overall impeccable cleanliness. Rooms in the form of bungalows with lake view (just 20 m away from the shore), with tea and coffee making facilities. You wake up to the sound of birds and fishermen singing in their boats. Paradise for bird watchers. Calm and relaxing - strongly recommended!

To all my fellow travellers: don't miss this place. It has just opened, they are still adding new services, and it is already a little wonder:
The lodge, which is a little higher than the road, offers and magnificent view and it is placed very near to the entrance of Akagera national park. There is no closest hotel, except for those in the park itself;
The rooms, which draw their character from the beautiful wooden style, are incredibly confortable, well designed, with a little terrasse perfect to read in this magic atmosphere;
The swimming pool is simple but perfect to relax after the "African massage" of the safari road, with a beautiful view;
The restaurant also points to the mountain in front, it has the same wooden style, a nice bar and a view to the kitchen to see the Chef in action;
The place is also thought well so that it is serving and benefiting the community around: not only is it ecological and affordable, Akagera Park Inn buys its food from the local farmers, it is building a local shop to promote local crafts, it is working with local guides and massage centers, it aims to make its economic adventure an inclusive one that benefits the community.
And of course, I have to mention the team who made everything to ensure that I had a good stay. For example, I received a warm welcome with fresh fruit mocktail and warm towel, they offered a little lunchpack for the safari, were extremely flexible with dinner and breakfast time, and put me in contact with the Ellie, a wonderful young guide who showed me around, took me for a brochette and some banana wine after the safari.

The situation is magical, could not have been better! The cosy wooden, very quiet and bright cottage provides you with the best views over Kivu lake. Outdoor shower is great. Owner Philippe is a truly kind and warm person. Whole staff is smiling and does its best to satisfy you in a simple but very professionnal way like the manager Éric. Food options are simply delicicious and healthy. Activities offered are various (island hopping, community sharing...) and very reasonably priced. Wish Philippe and his team a deserved success story!

Set in Kigali, 1.2 km from Kigali Convention Centre, Amata n'Ubuki Boutique Hotel Ltd offers accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace.
Guest review
Amata n' Ubuki hotel was a truly surpisingly superb selection of hotel, which I enjoyed staying at during my recent visit to Kigali Rwanda. Amata n' Ubuki is a delightful hotel with elegant and stylish decor throughout. It's clean, well-maintained, and features beautiful local art, creating a unique and sophisticated boutique atmosphere. The outdoor area, with the sparkling pool, garden, and lovely meal setting, is a particular standout for relaxation. It was heart-warming how the entire hotel staff went out of there way to make me feel welcome and relaxed.
The hotel is situated in a nice ,quiet safe neighborhood in central Kigali, it offers quietude while being conveniently located. It's close enough to walk to the Kigali Convention Centre and a short drive from other attractions like Inema Art Center and the airport.
From the hotel I enjoyed morning jogging tours and early evening strolls
The rooms are comfy, perfectly clean, and individually decorated. I loved the attention to detail, including Yes, the premium bedding( Great Beds), air conditioning, and modern en-suite facilities.
Wonderful Food & Dining: The Amata,, 'n Ubuki hotel restaurant and bar are excellent. The resturant was also a great experience , which features a blend of international and authentic African-inspired cuisine. The complimentary breakfast is a delicious start to the day, and dining by the poolside is a highlight. Here the resturant staff offers professional and personable service.
A special thanks to Deborah and all the front desk staff) for their professionalism and simple kindeness for making all my transportation arrangements to and from the hotel. Members of my family and business from the USA will be traveling soon to Kigali Rwanda and will be booking staying at Amata n Ubuki Hotel ,truly "MILK AND HONEY" experience.
