Everything was amazing. We received an exceptional welcome, the food was healthy and delicious, and we got all the assistance we needed for touring. My kids loved the lodge and all the activities they experienced, including cruising on Lake Kivu, swimming, enjoying the fishermen experience, and of course, playing cards. We had an unforgettable time. The owners, Aicha and Ivan, are incredibly kind and caring. It was a wonderful vacation. Umurobyi is a peaceful and quiet place - with a great view, perfect for relaxing and unwinding.

Bumpy, dirt road to the facility is worth to travel to reach this gem. Friendly staff, excellent and well priced food, overall impeccable cleanliness. Rooms in the form of bungalows with lake view (just 20 m away from the shore), with tea and coffee making facilities. You wake up to the sound of birds and fishermen singing in their boats. Paradise for bird watchers. Calm and relaxing - strongly recommended!

I liked everything! The hosts Isabelle and Justine were so friendly and the accommodation was lovely. Justine gave me a ride one morning when it was pouring with rain and Isabelle's spinach sauce is the best I have ever tasted! Thank you both for such a lovely stay. I hope I can come back again one day.

Firstly, of the last 10 km offroad, only last 2 kms is really bad..but still manageable..can be done via 2wd also, but not in rainy or muddy season.
Now coming to the property, its really a hidden paradise..the moment you enter you are mesmerised by the views of the lake and serenity around..rooms are large, spacious and self sufficient with fridge, kettle, tea etc.
The owner Philipe, is really a gentleman and a great story teller..u can talk to him for hours without getting bored..all the staff is really nice and the chef cooks amazing meals...there are many activities also that can be donesuch as kayaking, boat tripa to nearby islands etc, or jst swim in the lake in case u dnt want to do anything..
If given a chance, would love to stay here more frequently.

The service and staff were absolutely wonderful. Super easy to get to the hotel from the airport. They were accommodating - allowing me to check in 6 hours before check-in time. I had a wonderful breakfast. They custom-made my dinner and arranged for transport to and from the airport. I was also given a very thoughtful gift, which was lovely. Will certainly come back!
