If only we could rate more than 10. It was much better than the other 10s we rated (when we rated 10). It was, by far, the best place we stayed in all of our 2-month honeymoon in all of Africa. As we came, the hosts welcomed us so warmly that we felt they expected only us all the years they were here. We got welcome drinks and snacks - a fine wine and very good Samosas, served on the beautiful balcony in front of the ocean. All our bags (5, heavy) were carried without saying anything, with a big smile and good vibes. In our spacious room, we noticed a nice map of Zanzibar, marked with places of interest around (which we used, almost all of them), a welcome note, and welcome gifts! Cute bracelets that we still wear. Since we came in a hot season, the room was also equipped with an extra-strong fan, which was just what we needed as I'm sensitive to the hit. The beach was ridiculously close since it was the high tide, so we spent a few hours in the water. The dinner and lunch (extra, but fair prices, excellent quality, taste, and variety) were amazing. So tasty, and the options were all great and varied. We also had a bottle of SA wine, a fair price, and we liked it. Breakfast was yummy. Just everything you need - eggs, coffee, juice, toast, pancakes/chapati with guacamole and a fruit plate. I don't know how they do it, but the staff is so friendly and helpful. Important: I have Celiac, so I need gluten-free food. In all of Africa it was usually an issue, but not here. They made sure that I always had a variety of delicious options, even really creative ones like coconut rice bread for breakfast or hamburger. In the afternoon they invited us to a boat cruise (free!), to swim & snorkel in three different spots. During the cruise, they serve wine, water, and sodas, also free. They also have snorkeling gear, which we used all day long, and canoes, which we didn't have the time to use😞 It's these details that made our stay so calm and fun.

Staff, facilities and the property itself is amazing. We stayed there on our way from Dar to Mwanza. We stayed with two of our small dogs. Food was good too. They even packed our breakfast early in the morning as per request. Would love to visit again.

If someone told me they were planning to visit Zanzibar, I would recommend that their first choice be Babalao Bungalows. While booking through Booking.com, I was impressed by the numerous positive reviews and high rating of Babalao Bungalows, and my experience there completely justified the praise. The place is outstanding in every aspect: the accommodation, the location, the pricing, the breakfast, and more. What impressed me the most was Yahya, who assisted me during my stay. With extensive experience as a guide, he flawlessly organized our itinerary, allowing me to truly unwind and make the most of my 5 days in Zanzibar. It felt like more than just staying at a lovely place; it was akin to having hired a professional tour guide. Without a doubt, it ranks among the best places I've ever visited (and I don't use the term "best" lightly).

This hotel was by far the best one we stayed at during our trip to Tanzania (we visited four different ones). It's extremely well designed, spotlessly clean, the food was very good, and the host was outstanding—better than anywhere else we stayed. Highly recommended!

This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. All of the staff are extremely warm and friendly, and they provided services that far exceeded our expectations. Jacqueline at the front desk helped us book all of our activities, gardener Jonny took us on a tour of the gardens, the Chef helped us cook the fish we caught ourselves, and the restaurant servers would open fresh coconuts for us... We will definitely return, for the beautiful and captivating sea of Paje, as well as the lovely Hekaya.

The hotel staff is kind and considerate. Ahmet and the team took care of everything we needed — from great recommendations on where to go in the evening to preparing a lactose-free lunch we requested. The hotel has such a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere, a fun pool, and an excellent breakfast with fresh fruit. We felt cared for in every way, and there was a warm, homely vibe. The location is excellent — close to the beach and restaurants. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Zanzibar!

We had a wonderful stay at Pangani Cliffs! The staff and managers went above and beyond to make us feel truly welcome and cared for. The food was outstanding, every day brought a new dish prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. They also arranged a fantastic boat trip to Maziwe Island, where we had a great time. We loved exploring the reef at low tide, unwinding by the pool, and enjoying delicious cocktails with a breathtaking ocean view. I would highly recommend spending at least 2-3 days here, as there are plenty of activities to enjoy and discover. 😍

This place is a gem! A new hotel with a big heart, right by the ocean, surrounded by peaceful gardens and a stunning pool. The rooms are spacious and stylish, the breakfast is fresh and delicious, and very friendly staff.
