Excellent location right next to the yellow line of the Teleferico - best way to get around town. Staff are exceptional - Eduardo went out of his way to help us arranging a trip to Lake Titicaca. Also special mention to Paulo that organise an early breakfast at 6am for us the day we left.

Very nice rooms and very quiet, although on the main street. Very friendly staff, especially Angel. Very good breakfast in the top floor. Very nice bar with good drinks. We can recommend this hotel.

When you go to La Paz, you need a caring and proactive host. You won't get that with and Airbnb and that could be a real problem with altitude sickness. Same with "5 star" Hotels. The best bet, by far, is the family run Consulado. Add to that, it's a charming 100 year old former consulate with all the period decorations. This hotel and the owners really saved our vacation.
