The view outside the room was fantastic with a balcony that you can see all the Matera old city just across the Basilica . Best place for photos. The room we lived in was an old bakery inside a cave so you felt like living in old Matera ages.

We booked a normal room, nevertheless the staff offered us the suit for no difference in the price. It was the best stay we ever had - so authentic to the city and in the same time comfy! After a long day of experiencing Matera (lots of walking and climbing) we were able to enjoy the bathtub and had a great rest! The breakfast was also very delicious. We recommend this property with both hands! ❤️

A sweet and savoury breakfast is offered daily and is served in a converted cave. Breakfast includes hot drinks, croissants, cheese and cold meats. Very big room, with the cave behind where you can relax and drink wine. Very nice staff, explained me a lot about the town.

Air-conditioned rooms all feature a flat-screen satellite TV, a seating area and fully fitted private bathroom with a shower. L'Arturo B&B was centrally located in the picturesque old town of Matera with wonderful views over the sassi. Arturo and Monica were wonderful hosts - incredibily kind and helpful and went out of their way to assist us with taxis and recommendations for restaurants. Monica warned us beforehand not to bring big suitcases as there are many stairs down to the guest house. They kindly helped us with our luggage. The decoration of the room was quirky and modern and contrasted with the beautiful and well renovated old building Our room was very spacious with a nice terrace with a table and chairs. Restaurants and shops were all within walking distance from the guest house. The breakfast on the terrace with a view was scrumptious with fresh pastries, bread, cheeses, tomatoes,fruit, cereals, jogurt,milk ,coffee, water, and juice - so much to choose from. The location was ideal to explore the old town. The room was nice and clean, comfortable with lots of amenities, even espresso machine, has a cosy indoor balcony. The hostess is a wonderful lady that suggested and pointed us out all the sightseeings and the way to access them. She also offered us her parking lot to leave our motorbikes.
