Drogheria Franci offers 9 boutique rooms all differently decorated, a private Villa and an apartment in the heart of Montalcino. It was an amazing stay! The apartment was in the city centre, close to shops and restaurants, which was a big plus as we were travelling with a child. The apartment was always clean, and communication with the hotel was excellent. The hotel’s restaurant was very nice, and we can definitely recommend the food.

When we had difficulty locating public parking, the staff member helped with no hesitation and rode with us to find the parking lot. He also helped with fantastic recommendations for dinner. Breakfast at the dining room was also beyond lovely. The sweet and fresh pastry, fresh fruit and coffee etc will be part of our beautiful memory of San Donato.

I arrived after a long day of walking in the Via Francigena with nothing to eat (restaurant next door closed for holidays) so the Signora offered me whatever I wanted from the breakfast buffet food. The bed was comfortable and totally quiet. I really had a great night. Breakfast was more like Brunch, Signora made me scrambled eggs and pancakes plus juice, pastries, cakes, meat, cheese and good coffee. High recommend and only a 10 minute walk back to the VF path to Gallina/Radicofani.

Elena was charming and responsive to all of our needs both pre-travel and whiles staying there. Angelina was an incredible hostess/manager and handled all of our needs quickly and professionally. The breakfast was superior and the cakes were awesome -- make sure you try each one. The history of the place was very interesting (built in the 1200's) and we felt very warm and comfortable there. The views from our window of the Tuscan countryside was fabulous. I will return here always on future trips to Montepulciano.
