The private open bath is excellent. At dinner, you get the chance to make a variety of tempura by yourself which is kind of fun. This hotel is not far from Oshinkoshin Waterfalls and the Shiretoko Nature Center and the five lakes. I will definitely come back again, perhaps in mid-February to see the ice floes in front of this hotel.

The bright rooms at Hotel Sonia Otaru feature a seating area and furnishings with an antique look. They are equipped with a TV, refrigerator and air purifier. Each room comes with en suite bathroom. very appreciate to the kind staffs, they were able to help me to change my room which has a little problem to the another one. I also encountered a slight problem which I was unable to call the third party parking company nearby the Lawson. The staff used his phone directly and make calls to the parking company. Really very appreciate!

A nice old-fashioned (in the best possible way) hotel right on the canal. A good sized room with comfortable beds and a great view. Appreciated the clear instructions on towel changing, cleaning etc.

It was my second time staying here! Great location - 7 min walk from the JR station and around 15 min walk from the Tanukikoji area. Love the public bath though it was always busy in the evening. Excellent customer service, both online and on site, was definitely a plus!
