The room (one for two people with private bathroom) was very clean and although tiny for European standards, it was quite comfortable. The location is amazing! In a nice neighbourhood with many things to do around, in walking distance to main attractions and quite well connected. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is the option to store your luggage for free. I would totally recommend it.

Staff were helpful and friendly and loved being walking distance to attractions and subway. We booked the sake and tea tasting lessons offered by the hotel and would recommend to others. I learned a lot from Jason, some Japanese words as well as history of the products.

Opened in April 2013 with brand new facilities, Piece Hostel Kyoto is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station. It features a spacious and comfortable lounge, a tatami (woven-straw) terrace and a wall-size map with latest event information around Kyoto. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property, while portable WiFi devices are available for guests to use during their stay for an additional fee. The staff was great, they helped us deliver the phone my father forgot in the bullet train to the hostel, which at the Lost and Found office told us is going to be very difficult for an accomodation to do. The place is very clean, showers are separated in sort of mini rooms so there is a lot of privacy. There are dyson hair dryers which was unexpected for a 2 star hostel. The beds were comfortable as well. Location is walking distance from the main station and was very practical.

Absolutely loved the breakfast, it was the best out of all our hotel breakfasts this trip.
