Opened in June 2013, The Edo Sakura offers accommodation in a Japanese-style Machiya townhouse located a 5-minute walk from Iriya Subway Station and a 10-minute walk from JR Uguisudani Train Station. Free Wi-Fi is available at the entire property and guests can enjoy looking out into the traditional garden. Ueno Station is a 15-minute walk away. The staff at Edo Sakura were absolutely amazing, warm, welcoming, attentive, and helpful when needed! The Edo Sakura was the best part of our stay in Tokyo.

Re-opened in 2012 after thorough renovations, the Tokyo Station Hotel is registered as an Important Cultural Property and boasts gorgeous rooms in a classical European style. It features a French restaurant and stylish bars, and free WiFi is offered throughout. Its entrance is right next to the Marunouchi South Exit of Tokyo Station. We've stayed at the Tokyo Station Hotel several times and love it. It's such a luxurious place in a traditional way....a beautiful room with high ceilings and a great view, and the most wonderful breakfasts! Most Tokyo 4/5 star hotels are too large and impersonal for me, generally high rises, but Tokyo Station is old fashioned and comforting and I like the smaller scale. Not to mention the central location...so easy to get to any part of Tokyo from there with direct access to the JR Yamanote line. The open space of the huge plaza in front is lovely, giving open and distant views. Despite the nearby trains and the people gathering for photos in the plaza, the rooms are silent inside with the double glazed windows.

Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba is the first Grand Nikko hotel in Japan, open from 1 July 2016. Situated in the Tokyo Bay area in Odaiba, this property is the closest city resort hotel to central Tokyo, a 20-minute monorail and train ride away from JR Tokyo Station. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Great hotel. It feels grand as the name implicates. We loved the room (2434, high floor), the view (view of the bay, not rainbow bridge), the breakfast. We ordered room service in the evening as we were travelling with our two small children (0 and 3 years old) and did not feel like restaurant. There is a small grocery store right outside the hotel.

A lounge is reserved exclusively for suite room guests to enjoy a light meal service and terrace seating. The elegant interior is designed with respect to culture and tradition suitable for being left to future generations. In the middle of Tokyo, feel the breath of each season as you experience a moment of relaxation. Stunning gardens outside the hotel. The spa area was nice, although I was surprised you need to pay extra to access the pool and hot tubs.
