The building itself is fascinating, and you can feel it by the ambience and wooden stairs and floors, very well renovated and looks quite esthetic. If stay in Galle again I'd stop over at the Fort Printers - and google the history of the building and the Fort :)

The house itself and the surrounding area are very tidy , beautiful and clean. The owner, his family, and the assistant are friendly and pleasant people. There are tables and chairs on the premises, perfect for relaxing. There's also a shared living room where we had interesting conversations with the owner. Additionally, we were taught how to cook jackfruit and banana flower. After cooking, we enjoyed a communal dinner. The breakfasts are fresh and delicious. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with everything necessary provided. It’s convenient for both short stays and longer-term visits. Thank you for the hospitality. We highly recommend this place for staying in Hikkaduwa!

Die Aussicht von unserem Zimmer, direkt auf ein Teil der alten Festung und das Meer waren ein weiterer Mega Pluspunkt. Die Dachterrasse bietet für alle ein richtig schönen Ausblick, ob beim Frühstück oder zum Sonnenuntergang, was will man mehr. Danke für diesen schönen Aufenthalt.

The room was super spacious with high ceilings, making it feel airy and bright. The bathroom was also large and very functional. But it’s not just the room—the entire building was spotless! We even had our own rooftop with an incredible view. We stayed for five days and never even left the Fort area—everything, from top-class restaurants to cozy cafés, was within walking distance, so we didn’t need a tuk-tuk at all. The people were amazing—always kind and smiling. Next time we visit, we won’t even look for another place; we’ll definitely stay here again. 100% recommended!

Sri Lanka architektonisches Meisterwerk Dunes Unawatuna Hotel ist ein umweltfreundliches Boutique-Hotel in der Nähe des schönen Unawatuna Strand (100 Meter / 5 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt). Comfortable, clean hotel with great location near to the Unawatuna beach. The staff was polite and helpful. I would say it was one of the best hotels we stayed at in Sri Lanka. We had a room with a king-size bed.
