It was a return trip after >20 years. Our Club suite was excellent and the catering in the Club Room provided daily by Chanaka and Dinuja was first class. We had breakfast outside every day and the staff, especially the manager, were very supportive.
Thanks to the pool staff [muscle man 1 and 2] for all their hard work at the pool and the beach - very clean and tidy.
And to you the Nepali doorman at the pool entrance [and gym early morning] working 12 hour/day - thankyou - always a smiling face.
Thanks to Priti in the Gym/Tennis for sorting out the tennis and presenting me with a Le Meriden Shirt [assisted by Zizel on the front desk and her Hotel Manager].
In 20 years the hotel has been upgraded and the rooms are modern and well prepared. Housekeeping was great.
The old green pastures and soft landscaping of The Village are gone which is a shame.
The AquaSpa is no more and has been replaced with a non-friendly [and contracted out] massage facilities.
A great place to stay and relax for a week or so, close to downtown and right in the middle of Abu Dhabi in the Tourist Club Area.
There are still some old historical photos in the foyer from way back -- the late HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and VIPs -a nice touch.
