The property is in an excellent location- close to the heart of Santa Teresa but escapes the noise and crowds of Rio. The views around the house are breathtaking, from the breakfast room to the pool and the cozy reading rooms. The staff was super friendly and Adriana in particular welcomed us with open arms and was very helpful throughout.

One of the best hostel I’ve ever stayed! The place is incredible and clean, the staff is so kind and makes you feel like home, and even better than that. The swimming pool and the private mountain with the amazing view on Rio are the cherries on the top. I highly recommend it!

The deco - living room/dining room is very tasteful and gives you a feel of homely vibe. Food menu is limited but sufficient. Swimming pool is good size. You also have a game room to play a round of pool, or can retreat to sauna room to steam off all those caipirinhas. Staff (Pablo, Leo to name a few) are so hospital and professional. I was sick during my stay and their tentativeness (and the comfort of the hotel) certainly made the experience much more endurable. Hotel is also pretty close to main area of Santa Teresa by foot.

This place is really a little paradise in Rio. All is clean, commun parties are very welcoming. The terrace is lovely, The view is beautiful. Owners welcome you in a simple but very nice way, they make all to for your stay to be a good moment. Charming people. Special mention to the delicious breakfast. I’ve been to several hostel in my life, this one is really on my top 3. You could come to Rio just for Casa IGBA! Just be aware that it’s nearly at the top of a harsh slope, so if you are not at least a bit fit, you will struggle to climb.
