Very friendly and helpful hotel operators with lots of tips for hiking routes. Both Chinese and English is spoken. The hotel is located 30 meters from the main shopping street but still absolutely quiet. Clean rooms. It was a very pleasant stay. Baisha as one of the 3 old towns of Lijiang is the ideal starting point for hikes into the Yulong Mountains and yet not far from Lijiangs historical old town.

Extremely satisfied! The boss even upgraded our room type, and we could see Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from the room! The inn is perfectly located, making it convenient for both taking taxis and exploring the ancient city. When we had free time, we could chat and have tea with the boss 😎. The inn is very distinctive. The exterior features a traditional Chinese style, making it feel like entering the Mu Family Mansion. The rooms are modern, equipped with all kinds of smart devices, and extremely comfortable 😸. If we visit Lijiang again, we will definitely book this inn again!

Joye gave us a very warm welcome. We got a lot of suggestions wich were good. Also the staff speaks english so all of our questions were answered. Great to have some help like that in China! The room was really big and comfortable. Soft sheets, an electric blanket. Good shower, elektric heated (!) Smart toilet, very good hairdyer. We had more than we needed 😉 They arranged our trip to the tiger leaping gorge. They even noticed the owners of the hotel we booked in shangri la for our arrival. So nice! Many many thanks! The hotel is located near the old town and easily contacted by wechat, the owner is friendly and responded us very quickly. You can book car service to pick up from airport here with reasonable price. The same with tours around the city such as trip to Snow Moutain, Lugu lake,.... Room is nice, clean, and warm with air-conditioner, hair dryer, shampoo and everything else, I don't need to bring any of those with me in this trip. Especially if you love cake, try the rose cake from the hotel. It is so good I have to ask the owner to order for me to bring home as gift. They offer better prices than you go buy it yourself out in the old town. To sum up, it was a very pleased experience with Gemmer Hotel and Lijiang Old Town.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, we feel like stay at home. Especially Xiao He, he has been very helpful to assist with our request in arrange for our private van, he is very informative to make sure we can enjoy the most with the stay. Our first time visit Lijiang has been wonderfully. I will come and stay with them again if come to Lijiang.

My family and friends had a truly wonderful 5 nights at this accommodation. We arrived early in the day, and the experience from airport to check-in was seamless. The hotel had arranged airport transfer for us, and since cars aren't allowed into the ancient city, they also provided a luggage-carrying service from the city gate to the inn. To our delight, the rooms were already prepared, and they kindly allowed us to check in early—a thoughtful gesture we really appreciated after a long journey. The inn is located in a peaceful alley of the ancient city, yet just a short 10-minute walk from all the main sights. Plenty of great eateries and charming local shops/ within a 2-minute walk. Our rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean, and beautifully designed with a modern yet cozy feel. Everything felt fresh and new, and the heated blankets were a welcome touch on chilly nights. What truly made our stay exceptional were the wonderful owners/caretakers. Their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality made us feel right at home. They were always on hand with a friendly smile, ready to help with anything we needed. Another delightful bonus was the unlimited access to coffee, local snacks, and fresh fruits—such a generous and homey touch that really added to the experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. It's a perfect blend of comfort, warmth, and convenience—and I genuinely look forward to returning someday.
