Our stay at No.5 Valley Lodge was excellent! The staff was amazing – especially Rain, who was incredibly helpful and always available when we needed something. Everyone working there was kind and made us feel truly welcome. The location is peaceful and beautiful, perfect for relaxing after exploring the area.

This is a highly highly recommended Lodge located in a genuine quiet village. The beds are extremely comfortable; the home-made breakfasts and dinners were delicious. The lodge is very close to the west gate of the National Park. The mid-night corks' crows reminded you of the country-side life style. However, what makes the place so charming and impressive is the people. The Lodge owner Lucas and his partner Xiao Xie and their entire family, made our trip a wonderful experience. They provided very informative/detailed travel guidance as well as pick-up/drop-off services which made our daily excursions extremely convenient and pleasant. They welcomed us at the front yard at the time we come back which made us feel like returning home. They become part of the unforgettable memories of our cherished family gathering at Zhangjiajie!

Mary is amazing, she planned whole 4 days for us, which was best time spent in China. Her knowledge of park is top. We had breakfast and dinners and her cooking is just amazing. Super delicious food, everyday we had different fruit and also vegetable from her garden. You can not find best stay in Zhanghjijae.

Wah, the location is super convenient, just walk to the forest park. The staff are really friendly, help us book tickets and plan route, no need to worry about anything. The pool is shiok after a whole day of walking, and the room very clean and comfy with nice view. Breakfast also not bad, got local options. Highly recommend for those who want a hassle-free trip. Definitely worth it!

The stay in the hotel was super nice. The whole family took great care of us and the food was delicious and it is a great hotel for families and anyone wanting to visit Zhangjiajie National Park. When you know the plan of the forest it is really not hard, but there is not really a good plan. The owner gave us directions and provided a driver to get us to the park and back.

Great accommodation, just at the Gate to Avatar Mountains. Carol, the owner, speaks fluent english, gave us all advice for the trips, booked tickets etc. Very good local food at restaurant just downstairs

First of all, the location: the house is situated just inside the Zhangjiajie Forest National Park, by the West Gate. If you plan to really see the Park, this is the best place to stay for sure since it does take a good hour from Zhangjiajie City to reach. Instead of getting up super early every day, we could easily just walk outside the house and wave for the bus to stop and let us on, then we’d drive maybe 5 minutes (if at all) and arrive at the cable car station. The facilities are amazing, too. The room was beautiful and nicely renovated and it even had one of those neat automatic toilets. The house had multiple seating areas outside, like a terrace and a pool (which was closed since it was the low season), but our absolute favorite was the patio by the river. It’s so peaceful and idyllic and really lets you appreciate the natural scenery. Secondly: the food! Delicious breakfast and dinner! Most importantly: our hosts! These people are the warmest, kindest, most gracious hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Especially Nihong. Our time in Zhangjiajie would not have been the same without her. She was our tour guide for the first two full days, showing us so much of the park we would have never seen otherwise. She took time out of her day for us for three straight days just to make sure we had the best possible experience. We learned so much about Tujia culture as well, which was so interesting. Her English is so good and she was always interested in learning more, and in turn she helped us learn a few Chinese words and phrases. And her husband drove us to the Railway Station when we had a very early train to catch, which was such a big help. We could not have been more lucky with these kind people! All in all, if you’re thinking of staying here, please do! You won’t regret it. We certainly hope we can return one day! Xiexie! Wo ai ni Zhangjiajie!
