We had a truly relaxing and wonderful holiday at this cozy and beautiful resort! It’s tucked away in a quiet area, yet conveniently close to the west gate of the national forest park. The staff were incredibly hospitable and kind. They offered us helpful tourist information, taxi services and assisted with our luggage. The ladies in the kitchen prepared authentic and delicious local dishes—some of which were made with fresh vegetables they picked straight from their own garden! One of the things we appreciated most was the resort’s location. It allows you to explore the park against the main tourist flow. Most visitors stay near the east, north, or south gates, and most tours begin from either the south or east. Staying near the west gate gave us a more peaceful and unique experience of Zhangjiajie. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, great service, and a more tranquil way to enjoy the park!

The most wonderfull thing about this hotel is a natural true “home feeling” there. All the attitude, attention and care from a lovely employee Tiffany create such a warm atmosphere around. She gives necessary guidelines about the Park, what to see there, the best routes for walking, she follows you to the Park entrance every morning, always available for contact and help, picks you up after walking. That is very valuable. I do recommend this hotel also because it is perfectly located close to the unpopular West park entrance what help you to avoid crowds. After an active mountain day you can swim there or chill at the hotel terrace. The room was cleaned every day. You will definitely enjoy staying at this hotel.

Even before we arrived at Whispering Mountains, we knew we were going to be looked after as Lucas and Eason checked in with us to see if we needed assistance with planning our visit to Zhangjiajie and if we needed airport transfers. Without these guys, we would not have had the trip we had. The hotel is located just a couple of minutes walk/drive away from the West Gate which was perfect because the crowds were so low. The guys went above and beyond! We had an issue with the neighbours rooster outside our window that woke us up on our first 2 nights and by our 3rd day, they had built a hut for it, further away for the hotel - that is customer service and incredibly amazing! The rooms were BEAUTIFUL and so comfortable. They were also a very big size so perfect for all our luggage. Would love to see the buzz of the place in the Summer. All in all, we would highly recommend this accommodation in Zhangjiajie. It was exactly what we needed for our trip and again a huge shout out to Lucas & Eason - you are fantastic at what you do!

Carol is one of the kindest persons I met while travelling. She is very sweet, always available, with very helpful tips to helps on our journey in Zhangjiajie National Park. The food they cook for us was delicious and maybe the best meals we had in China. It felt like we were part of the family.

This was such a wonderful place to unwind after exploring the park. The location couldn't be better - just a short walk to the trails. Our room was clean, cozy and had a gorgeous view. The staff were so friendly and helped us map out our day. Loved the pool and the little creek running through the property. Felt very peaceful and well taken care of. Thanks for a great stay! We'd definitely recommend.

This Chinese homestay was recommended by my friend because he walked the whole area and it's the closest entrance gate to Avatar. We chose the paid service from the airport to the scenic spot. The boss sent us to the gate of the scenic spot every day and picked us up for free at the gate of the scenic spot at night. After tasting Chinese food, I found that I love Chinese food.

Carol is a super host! She helped us a lot with planning each day and organizing our stay in Zhangjaijie. The hostel is very friendly and quiet. The location is excellent. Without a doubt one of the highlights of our stay in China!

First of all, the location: the house is situated just inside the Zhangjiajie Forest National Park, by the West Gate. If you plan to really see the Park, this is the best place to stay for sure since it does take a good hour from Zhangjiajie City to reach. Instead of getting up super early every day, we could easily just walk outside the house and wave for the bus to stop and let us on, then we’d drive maybe 5 minutes (if at all) and arrive at the cable car station. The facilities are amazing, too. The room was beautiful and nicely renovated and it even had one of those neat automatic toilets. The house had multiple seating areas outside, like a terrace and a pool (which was closed since it was the low season), but our absolute favorite was the patio by the river. It’s so peaceful and idyllic and really lets you appreciate the natural scenery. Secondly: the food! Delicious breakfast and dinner! Most importantly: our hosts! These people are the warmest, kindest, most gracious hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Especially Nihong. Our time in Zhangjiajie would not have been the same without her. She was our tour guide for the first two full days, showing us so much of the park we would have never seen otherwise. She took time out of her day for us for three straight days just to make sure we had the best possible experience. We learned so much about Tujia culture as well, which was so interesting. Her English is so good and she was always interested in learning more, and in turn she helped us learn a few Chinese words and phrases. And her husband drove us to the Railway Station when we had a very early train to catch, which was such a big help. We could not have been more lucky with these kind people! All in all, if you’re thinking of staying here, please do! You won’t regret it. We certainly hope we can return one day! Xiexie! Wo ai ni Zhangjiajie!
