A wonderful family-run hotel in the mountains with a view of the Avatar Mountains .Delicious Chinese food at the local restaurant (we didn't have time to try everything on the menu in three days 😂) manager Tiffany speaks excellent English and resolves all your questions in no time! And Tiffany professionally planned itineraries to visit all the iconic locations, including purchasing all the tickets and providing transportation to the desired locations. Everything is so well-organized that all you have to do is enjoy the beauty and grandeur of the mountains. The host went above and beyond in helping us plan our visit and making us feel welcome. The home-made breakfasts and dinners were delicious and wholesome. As an Italian, having caffè Illy in the morning was a dream. The rooms and the property are curated in every detail and very cozy.

We went to No5 Valley Lodge to explore the Zhangjiajie National Park, and we loved every bit of it. The lodge is in a very remote area, meaning that you're not close to shops or towns, but that's exactly what we were looking for. It's 5 minutes away from the west entrance of the park, which was perfect in our opinion because we managed to escape the crowds on most of our hikes. The lodge is beautiful and the pictures don't always do it justice, especially the view from the restaurant and swimming pool. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and very cosy. We started in one of the rooms, that was next to the swimming pool, and as the weather was getting colder (low season), the heating system had been turned on, which meant it made quite a lot of noise. We let the staff know about this and they immediately changed our rooms and upgraded us. The staff, and particularly Frankie, is very friendly and helpful. They're very organised and will provide you with pre-defined routes of visit for the park, which is great as it's quite a confusing and large park, so you just have to follow their guidance! Finally, we loved the food there, it was of really good quality, but note it's not western. Again, that's what we wanted, so we were very happy with it.

Mate, could not fault this place! The location is bloody perfect - straight out the door and you're in the park. The pool was a lifesaver after a long day hiking. Staff are absolute legends, sorted all our tickets and gave us some top tips. Rooms are spotless with killer views. Brekky was great too. 10/10, would stoked to come back. Highly recommend!

We had an excellent stay at the Yang Family Courtyard Homestay. Our host, Longjing, was exceptionally kind and helpful throughout our stay. Initially, we weren’t sure if staying near the west entrance of the park was a good idea, as we couldn’t find much information online—being the less touristic entrance. In the end, it turned out to be a great choice and very convenient. The best part of entering from the west entrance is that you go against the flow of the crowds. We were there during high season and saw long queues forming in the direction of the east entrance. Longjing helped us book everything in advance, suggested the routes we could take for the next day, and drove us to the west entrance every morning (just 5 minutes by car) and picked us up every afternoon to return to the homestay. Her help was invaluable, as most of the information available is in Chinese. The homestay is very new and well-equipped. The bed is huge and extremely comfortable. Since the homestay is located away from big cities or towns, they offer the option to have dinner on-site. The ingredients are sourced directly from their garden, and the chef’s cooking is absolutely amazing! We definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Everything was perfect, Carol speaks really good in english, the restaurant under the reception was super good for a good price. We went to the national forest park and she helped us a lot to plan the days based on the weather. 100% recommended🙏🏽

The host was so nice and helpful, she help us plan the whole trip in the mountains and gave us a detailed map. The homestay is located in the west exit, so that you go agains the stream of the main crowd, and we almost never queued. The view from the homestay was also incredible and the room was great with everything needed. The breakfast was very generous and nice.

This was honestly one of my favourite stays of all time and I have stayed at a lot of hotels. Lucas is extremely friendly and helpful with park routes and the hotel is located in a very peaceful part of ZJJ away from the busier areas. They also have a pool table, outdoor pool, and laundry facility. Hope to stay again in the future. :)
