My wife and her friend stayed in the hotel and this is her recommendation: Absolutely gorgeous small hotel in a very quiet neighborhood, that is well connected to the center. We loved the room, the Marie Brizard Suite. A perfect room for two friends because it has two very comfortable double beds in a loft style set up. One bed is upstairs in a lovely loft that overlooks the main room where the other bed is located. The bathroom is off the hallway. The room has its own separate entrance and so it feels very private. It also has a small beautiful balcony that looks over the principle courtyard of the hotel. The decoration and room decor is top notch. I personally loved the lightening and the tasteful wallpaper and artwork. It is so quiet at night, it was unbelievable. The breakfast is simple yet delicious and the host at breakfast, a friend of Pierre's, was accommodating and very friendly. I plan to stay at La Chartreuse again when I return to Bordeaux with my husband. An overall splendid experience. Highly recommended!

Very nice, laid back hotel that is very walkable to central Bordeaux. Fantastic staff, especially the concierge who made great dinner reservations and recommended a very good wine tour for us. Breakfast buffet is substantial and the staff do a great job. Very well appointed room with comfortable bed, a great shower, etc. Highly recommended hotel in Bordeaux.

The hotel was very inviting and friendly. The staff were always so helpful and charming to deal with. Two particular staff who were very helpful were Luma and Kerim. Also Coco in the Bar/ Restaurant could not have been nicer. We stayed for 6 nights and we all had an enjoyable stay.

For a weekend discovery between lovers or friends alike, the Mercure Bordeaux Centre-Ville is a must in the heart of our beautiful wine region, just 7 km from Matmut Atlantique Stadium.
