Hotel Majapahit is Surabaya's equivalent of Singapore's Raffles at a fraction of the price. I'll probably never experience the 5-star luxury of the Singaporean version and the Hotel Majapahit obviously cannot offer the same standard as they hopefully do. Nevertheless my stay at Hotel Majapahit was incredible. Hotel Majapahit is a grand hotel on a 3-star hotel price. Our room was charmingly old-fashioned and very spacious, the bathroom was incredible with a bathtub, shower cabin and toilet cubicle. We had a terrace with a garden view. The hotel is huge and one can imagine how lively it must have been in the old days. The swimming pool area was very pleasant and the pool and spa's catering and staff were amazing. Our breakfast at Restaurant Indigo was good and the staff were very kind and very professional. Walking through this historical building and being part of it even if only for one night was something never to be forgotten.

The high standard of the hotel stood out by the hotel staff at ALL levels. The room was spotless, and water and bed were great. The view from the 20th floor (room 2010) was goods looking down at the traffic. Similar view from the bar located on the 21st floor. Breakfast and dinner selection were huge, with the dining room making you feel like a VIP. Did not use the pool or excise area. Location to all the places on my bucket list was easy, either walking or taxi.

Welcoming guests with an outdoor swimming pool, Ascott Waterplace Surabaya is located right in front of Pakuwon Mall which houses convention halls, department stores and various dining outlets.
