Beautiful property with history, art and antique touches through out! Pool opens early which is great of you need to do laps. Lovely evening lounge vibe. Everything was top notch. It was a wonderful experience! The history of tour was a lovely unexpected extra and I recommend to everyone (it is complimentary and worth it). The sweet Mr. Newton is THE guide! Told us interesting facts, stories, and he himself has very interesting life and character!

We stayed here from Dec 29 2024 to Jan 2 2025. I am writing this review soon after we reached home.
This was one of our several visits to the Taj in the past few years and, incredibly, every visit tops the previous one. Often, one wants to try a new place although with the Taj, this is not the case. Somehow, it draws you back again and again.
Sakshi helped check us in and stayed in touch throughout the stay. She took over all our matters as soon as we checked in. Which wasn’t easy given the hotel was at near full capacity and the pressure of new year eve preparations. We can’t thank her and Ritesh (the GM of the property) for making our family feel super special.
The Taj Mahal Palace wing sets the benchmark for warmth and luxury. One has to stay here to set yourself a benchmark of what hotel stays can be like. If your travels bring you to Mumbai, stay here. Even if it is for a day. It makes life worth living!

Great value for money. Beautiful old building directly on the colaba causeway. Spacious rooms.
We had private bathrooms on the hallway, which were small but the showers were surprisingly good (both water pressure and temperature)
Breakfast is simple, just tea and toast served in the room.
Airco and wifi both worked properly.

All the staff we encountered were so helpful and friendly. Our check in and check out went very smoothly. The front desk staff were super efficient and always willing to help. On our last morning the front desk went beyond in helping us with Sri Lankan E-Visa issues we were having. The doorman was always very polite and accommodating. The restaurant was clean and well staffed. The meal options suited us perfectly for both breakfast and dinner. We enjoy savoury food more than sweet for breakfast. So others who like a big range of cereals, pancakes, waffles etc. would probably not enjoy it as much. There was fresh fruit and juices, muesli, french toast and other breads, rolls and limited pastries. A variety of some Indian and Western foods at both meals. The ala carte menu for lunch/dinner was limited but the buffet that was offered, more than made up for that. The chef and kitchen staff prepared some amazing meals! Our reservation was made through Booking.com. We had an oceanview room on the 9th floor that was very large. Our room rate had a daily happy hour and breakfast included. It was pleasantly decorated, clean and tidy. The bathroom was an average size, with a shower tub combo. The shower had great water pressure and temperature. The hotel location for us was perfect. Close to all sites we wanted to see. About an hour drive from Mumbai Intl. airport. Taxi and tour company pickups knew the hotel, so it was easy to organize transportation. There was a really handy ATM machine just down the street from the hotel. We felt safe walking in the immediate area around the hotel. Apparently, there are nice restaurants nearby, but we only had 2 nights and just ate at the hotel restaurant (Tamarind). We would definitely recommend this location and Hotel. Thank you to all who made our first visit to Mumbai a very memorable experience.
