Absolut amazing venue. We traveled in a group of 7 persons and it was the perfect accommodation for us. Modern, but in Japanese style. Great location in Arashiyama. Very relaxing after a day of sightseeing in Kyoto. Staff was very friendly and flexible. It was very easy to arrange the meeting time for check-in.

It was perfect. I enjoyed my stay and had loads of fun for my bday celebration. The staff was very accommodating and was considerate enough to throw a surprise greeting for my birthday. Loved the whole stay! I would very much go back.

Extra friendly. I accidentally double booked a room and they were able to correct it without us paying the cancellation cost. Free breakfast. Clean, good location if you want to visit Arashiyama, and the moss temple. Good connection (a direct bus ~40 minutes) to Kyoto station. Near bus and train station. They even had a restroom for leisure. It feels that it’s most for people who travel with pets since there are a lot of dog treats and dog theme.

Lovely, chilled hostel perfectly located to explore the gorgeous countryside around Arishiyama. A breath of fresh air after the impersonal vibes at many hostels in town. Great place to relax for a few days. Bamboo forest, town, river, restaurants - everything within easy walk 🙂. Everything spotless. The hostel also hires out bikes and I had a great day out by the river, exploring in the sunshine.

This was our most loveable stay in Japan! OYAMA is like my grandmother - she is helpful, kind, full of love and joy and is such a gem. The Guesthouse is close to the train station but a bit far away from the center of Kyoto. But for the price you will get a very comfy bed, super clean bathrooms and showers and this beautiful host.
