Lovely spacious rooms, helpful kind staff, Meals were well prepared and the afternoon tea on check in was a lovely touch. View from room and outdoor bath was stunning, so special. Staff very helpful when we needed extra help to contact local onsen, they were so kind and called ahead for us so we could keep our booking on very short notice.

Everything is top notch, room is spacious and clean with daily room service, staff is extremely friendly, warm and hospitable. I would like to express my great gratitude to Iwasaki (岩崎) at dining and Yamada (山田泰子) at reception, they are doing their best to make customers happy with great smile 😃 Not forgetting to mention the meals which is very delicious, ingredients are fresh and with great variety. Oh dear I starts to missed the place so much 😄

Loved being tucked away from town on the orchard. The apples and apple juice were delicious and the owners were super helpful as we had an injury to deal with (a trip to the hospital), and they even gave the sorry sore one a lift home. Amazing hospitality.
Would definitely recommend. Very comfortable and spacious with all the required appliances

Memorable experience. Very charming Ryokan with a long >100 year history but well maintained, and spotlessly clean. The room was amazing with a great view of the mountain opposite and the river below. The in-room onsen was definitely the highlight. Alot of effort and attention to detail went into guest comfort and satisfaction. The Kaiseki dinner was amazing, beautifully presented and overwhelming in the number of courses served. Similar for breakfast. And to ensure no guest went hungry, delicious desserts were served for tea, and inari sushi for supper. Heavy snowfall transformed the landscape into a winter wonderland, which was truly a sight to behold. Compliments to Ms Suta and her team.

Good plan for sleep and social. House was spacious and clean, games to play and good area for eating and relaxing. Excellent utilities and a big plus for having dishing service in a private rent. Good area to dry ski equipment and clothes.

I loved the homely atmosphere of the lodge, the warmth, the incredible views, the magical snowfall everyday.
The common area had everything we needed including extra blankets, books, games, a keyboard…and we had access to water, tea and coffee. The communal fridge made it easy to store snacks, and there is a microwave which was incredibly helpful for me as I chose to eat dinner at the lodge. The convenience store down the road has a variety of food and snacks, and plenty of vegan options!
The breakfast was amazing each day. Tim was able to make me vegan waffles and muffins everyday morning which was amazing as Tokyo was challenging to find good vegan food. The coffee was barista brewed, and it was second to none. I was so impressed, I had to have two coffees every morning.
Craig (owner) was the main superstar this whole trip. He went above and beyond to answer all my questions, provide advice on what to do where to go, and did all the station pickups and drop offs anytime I needed to go out for the day.
As it was a spontaneous trip I didn’t have appropriate footwear or extra jackets and gloves. However the lodge was able to provide all these for me to have a comfortable stay. I even built a snowman ⛄️
I will definitely be coming back sooner rather than later!
Thank you Craig, and team!

Such a lovely and more traditional experience, the food, the people, sleeping on futon, using the kotatsu and the onsen was so nice. Absolutely loved the stay here. I'm not a big seafood person but I still really enjoyed all of the meals, there was always plenty of delicious things to eat even if there were one or two I was being picky about.
