It was quiet, peaceful, and surprisingly spacious. The overall atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing city getaway. - Private Onsen: The private onsen was the highlight of our stay, offering a tranquil and rejuvenating experience. - Dining Experience: Both dinner and breakfast were impressive, with beautifully prepared and delicious meals.

I was immediately captivated by the overall environment, and the impeccable cleanliness left a lasting impression. The quality of the hot springs greatly enhanced this trip, making it even more enjoyable. From dinner to lunch, every detail was filled with delightful surprises. I especially loved the evening happy hour in the hallway. The only small wish I had was for an alternative selection of red wine. This is truly an unforgettable hotel.

The host was very friendly and welcoming. He was respectful and gave us space but had lots of very good suggestions which we enjoyed. He even helped us to set up the bbq pit and get it going so we could bbq, and there were lots of groceries and things that were provided. The facilities are generous: can take 12 guests comfortably with two shower rooms and 4 WCs The place is quiet with easy parking and within short drive (less than 30 minutes) of major outdoor adventure locations. Its a great base camp for outdoor activities. I would love to come again in a different season and see all that minakami has to offer!

I loved the homely atmosphere of the lodge, the warmth, the incredible views, the magical snowfall everyday. The common area had everything we needed including extra blankets, books, games, a keyboard…and we had access to water, tea and coffee. The communal fridge made it easy to store snacks, and there is a microwave which was incredibly helpful for me as I chose to eat dinner at the lodge. The convenience store down the road has a variety of food and snacks, and plenty of vegan options! The breakfast was amazing each day. Tim was able to make me vegan waffles and muffins everyday morning which was amazing as Tokyo was challenging to find good vegan food. The coffee was barista brewed, and it was second to none. I was so impressed, I had to have two coffees every morning. Craig (owner) was the main superstar this whole trip. He went above and beyond to answer all my questions, provide advice on what to do where to go, and did all the station pickups and drop offs anytime I needed to go out for the day. As it was a spontaneous trip I didn’t have appropriate footwear or extra jackets and gloves. However the lodge was able to provide all these for me to have a comfortable stay. I even built a snowman ⛄️ I will definitely be coming back sooner rather than later! Thank you Craig, and team!

Amazing gem in the mountains! We stayed here one night whilst driving back to Tokyo and wished we could stay longer! The room was very big and the futons were super comfortable. The staff was super welcoming and went definitely above and beyond for us. We decided to have the set meal which was incredible, might seem pricey when booking but for what you get and the experience in itself is worth every penny and to be honest even more! There are different onsens in the building, some outdoors and some indoors and there is the possibility of booking one of the outdoor ones privately. I would definitely stay here again!

Only a 5-minute walk from JR Kamimoku Train Station, Tatsumikan boasts in 5 indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths and meals featuring local dishes.

The pure Japan experience! This is a location where the majority of the visitors are Japanese, which makes the stay most authentic. The Onsen are beautiful and dinners amazing. But, perhaps most important, the staff is extremely nice and helpful!

We loved our stay at Mirise, clean house in the heart if minakami and 15mins drive from everywhere. House was impeccably clean, fully equipped with all you can think of and spacious enough for 4-6 people, best of all: dog friendly !! Response yo any questions was also very fast, usually within a few hours (despite some late hours!)
