Travelling as one adult and two kids, it was our first time to Akakura and we absolutely loved hotel Senke. The owners make you feel right at home and make sure you have everything you need. They genuinely cared for us and made us feel right at home. They helped us with our bags up to the room. The Onsen is special, it's surrounded by natural rock tiles and is piping hot, fresh from the source, with windows you can open to let in the cool air. The location is right in the middle of town, walking distance to the Akakura Onsen lift, gear hire shops, convenience store and other food shops. The hotel itself has a restaurant which is delicious. The kids loved Mr Burger and the crepes, but they also do fabulous Japanese food, all at reasonable prices.

The Address is the place to stay in Akakura Onsen when visiting Myoko Kogen. It is right on the main strip so easily accessible to the lifts, rentals, restaurants, bars and the only convenience store (Yamazaki) is just opposite the hotel. But what really sets the place apart is the hospitality of the host and owner who takes a personal touch to ensuring your stay is comfortable and everything goes smoothly. We booked this place late and were lucky to get a spot and we did not regret it all. perfect location really close to town. excellent staff who were so friendly. would highly recommend to anyone traveling to myoko.

Friendly staff - English speaking. Breakfast was great, self-serve cereal and muesli was included on top of hot breakfast. Onsen available for guest was huge and great. They were also kind enough to give us a lift to Myoko Kogen Station on the day of departure. Only 100m walk to the chairlift.

Super nice host family!! Very beautiful, peaceful location near a ski area. The host helped us a lot with everything. The breakfast was incredibly yummy. We felt very welcomned.

When I arrived at Moomin Papa I immediatly felt home. The place is located in a little Onsen town full of chalets and covered in snow, it’s litterally like in a fairytale. I had a dorm but since the place wasn’t busy I had a room to myself. The room was super cozy and really warm, so really confortable. Contacting the host was super easy through the app, they are quickly replying and are making sure everything is allright, all the time. The onsen was a big plus, I really enjoy relaxing in it after a long day skiing. Also, the breakfast was amazing and when I told them I was vegetarian they adjust the menu for me. I really enjoyed my stay, Moomin and Papa are lovely people. I would come back anytime.

Staying at White Tree Lodge felt like visiting family Hayden and Saki are great hosts who do everything to help and make your stay enjoyable, room and lodge facilities comfortable, great location close to ski lifts and other restaurants in the village, and the home cooked Japanese food in the white tree restaurant was delicious with a great variety on menu. I have been skiing in Japan for 15 years and white tree is a definite standout and would highly recommended
