Serene, authentic, and classy, this place has it all. It is criminally good value for the money. The keiseki dinner and breakfast were out of this world, probably the best meals I’ve ever had in my two trips to Japan (I’m fussy). A particular shout out to a staff member called Bhesh, a lovely Nepalese man who was extremely kind and helpful, I hope the hotel is rewarding him well for his excellent work.

Hidaji was a very special and unforgettable experience, 100% worth it. We felt very pampered with my husband and the food was amazing, we ate like kings! There is lots to do around for nature lovers but you can also easily just stay in and enjoy the amenities and each other. We had a lot of privacy and felt as though we were alone most of the time even though the place was fully booked.

We could not expect a better ending to our 3 weeks trip in Japan. Furusato was the best way possible to deep experience the Japanese Alps. Everything, from the staff, the food and the onsen was a magic experience.

The owners are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the delicious meals which were all carefully prepared and beautifully served. We loved the inside and outside onsen. After a relaxing bath and a lovely dinner we slept well in our comfortable futons. My stay was a thoroughly luxurious, relaxing experience. From the carefully curated interior that was calm, comforting and beautiful, to the wonderful staff and the exceptional meal (dinner and breakfast), which included local specialties prepared with love and care, everything was curated and deliberately chosen. I loved taking a bath in the private onsen in my room, being able to open the sliding doors to the forest just outside the room, where I was completely immersed in nature. The staff took care of all my needs and i felt completely at ease and could reset myself completely. a lovely Yukatan completed the experience.

Stunning mountain area. The onsen was incredible! You are really surrounded by forest. The meals we had were the best food we ate in the country. Real home cooking perfection. The onsen was a delight even in summer.

Very close to the bus station, we stopped here on our way from Matsumoto to Takayama. Japanese-style room (ryokan), on the table a Japanese tea set (a teapot and bowls) with good sencha tea is waiting. The available natural hot springs are a great place to rest and relax. Meals in an atmospheric atmosphere in a yakuta with haori. Dinner is really delicious, quite decent fine dining. Breakfast is equally good.
