Rustic feels which transported us back in time. The staff were friendly and explained everything well. There are several locations for the onsens, and we enjoyed the ones next to the river best. Food was good generally, and we sat round the fire. The rooms were on the warm side.

Having a private onsen in the room is great, but I wasn’t expecting the food to be the true highlight of the experience! Both breakfast & dinner were superb, cooked with local ingredients using local recipes; Hoba Miso entering my top 10 of fav Japanese dishes.

We had an exceptional stay at Furusato. The staff were incredibly nice and attentive, the dinner and breakfast were both amazing (both in terms of quality and presentation), the rooms were comfortable, the onsen was good, and we had everything that we could needed and more. The staff even came to find us in the middle of dinner so that we could catch the local lion dancers that happened to come by for the local spring festival.

Hotel staffs were really nice and helpful, the hotel was very clean and nice, and the onsen was amazing! We had our own private onsen in our room but we also tried the private outdoor as well and both were amazing. Breakfast and dinner were amazing as well. We love the free coffee, beer, tofu and ice creams. Would totally visit again!

Writing this after coming back from Japan. Mozumo is the one place that made my trip 10 times better. Beyond the facilities and the insanely good food, It felt so special. Bear in mind this place is not for everybody as their checkin and eating times are very restrictive (because It's private setting), but I'm telling you It's all worth It. From the high-end van they picked me up with from the station to the huge room, the Michelin star food, the private onsen in the room, everything was magical. There is only one warning, try to be there while there is still snow and It's still cold, otherwise the onsen is gonna be way too hot. I was here alone, but can't think of a better place to stay with your partner for a cozy weekend too. One last thing: meals are served on a private setting (not a restaurant), and I had the most magical view of the snow while dinning and having breakfast. Unforgettable.

Stunning mountain area. The onsen was incredible! You are really surrounded by forest. The meals we had were the best food we ate in the country. Real home cooking perfection. The onsen was a delight even in summer.

This ryokan stands out for its excellent service. All the staff were cheerful, polite, and genuinely welcoming. Both dinner and breakfast were thoughtfully prepared, with a wide variety of dishes and excellent taste. You really shouldn’t eat too much beforehand, as the dinner here is plentiful and delicious. The location is great for those planning to visit Kamikochi — it’s just a short walk from the bus station to the ryokan. It’s a perfect place to relax and recover after exploring Kamikochi. It's an amazing place for relaxation and experiencing rural Japan. The Japanese breakfast and dinner are astonishing. The staff is very friendly and kind, the staying here will be remembered as one of our best in Japan
