Many things. Design is great! We booked because of the hotel design. Facilities also great. Free flow drink for evening until 11pm - beer, sake, juice, ice-cream etc. staffs are great, able to speak English very well. The location also great, able to walk to the whole Takayama city centre.

Everything is amazing in this hotel. I stayed in a family room, japanese style, very traditional. What a comfortable room, clean, very well equipped and with several ammenities. The breakfast is fantastic with 3 choices, but I'd suggest the japanese one to close with a full japanese experience. Finally, the staff is so lovely and very attentives with everything. A special thank to this amazing team.

The owners are so sweet! They gave us matcha tea when we arrived!
The ryokan is stunning! Amazing decoration in every single place! We love the onsen! Everything Is extra clean and tidy!
I told one of the owner (lady) it was really cold outside and when we get back to the room was blankets and the kettle ready to drink our tea! (In the room was before ready tea pot and cups).
I forgot my necklace in the room and the owners send me a messenge but I was already in Tokyo for the next day take flight to get back home. They were amazing and send to me the necklace to Australia !

Extremely hospitable! Tai-san and his family were one of the loveliest people we had the priviledge to meet. Tai-san was super helpful, he even helped us around with finding a vehicle for us to rent. The accomodation also provides a shuttle service with zero charges.
The room was extremely clean! We even had small entertainment room where you are to chill and watch movies in.
The Breakfast included (we opted for the Japanese menu) was also delicious!
A 7-eleven store is of walkable distance too.

The location is about a 20 min walk to the central area and about a 30 min walk to the Hida Folk Village so the location isn’t too bad if you’re planning to see both. The staff is beyond excellent, extremely polite, friendly and welcoming. We had the Japanese breakfast which was really delicious. I loved how big our room was, it was all well worth the stay.
