We had an amazing stay here, the in-room onsen was a great addition! We loved the Ryokan-style hotel, and we got a really nice surprise for our honeymoon from the staff, which was really thoughtful. The food was amazing, and the private outdoor onsens were very beautiful.

Let me tell you - this was probably THE best experience we have ever had. Exceptional suite, very kind, friendly and helpful staff, amazing food. While we did not particularly enjoy every single dish due to personal preferences, but the overall food quality and variety was really amazing. To anyone currently staying and wondering if you should wear provided Japanese traditional clothes to dinner and breakfast - do it, they are provided for a reason. Also, they are really comfortable. Every room has a private open-air bath (onsen), shower and a toilet (even though a toilet is listed as shared, that is just a mistake). This is a must do when you are visiting Japan. We wish we could have stayed at least one more night. Exceeded all of our expectations, would definitely come back again. Huge thanks to all staff.

The accommodation was excellent and in a beautiful location. The staff were welcoming and very polite and helpful. We had evening dinner and breakfast and the food and service were superb!!

Loved everything. The location is beautiful, far away and a bit tricky to get there but beautiful. The owners are lovely, very kind and respectful. They even picked us up from the bus station because we didn't know there were not buses after 17hs. It was raining a lot and they picked us up and drove us to the pension. We are very grateful for that. The food is amazing! I loved every breakfast and dinner. The love and passion they put on the preparation is wonderful. For me it was the best traditional food I tried in Japan. The onsen where as expected, I enjoyed them a lot. The rooms were very big and comfortable, with enough space for luggage. The owners don't speak English but communicate through a tablet so it was very easy to ask things.

This ryokan stands out for its excellent service. All the staff were cheerful, polite, and genuinely welcoming. Both dinner and breakfast were thoughtfully prepared, with a wide variety of dishes and excellent taste. You really shouldn’t eat too much beforehand, as the dinner here is plentiful and delicious. The location is great for those planning to visit Kamikochi — it’s just a short walk from the bus station to the ryokan. It’s a perfect place to relax and recover after exploring Kamikochi. Thank you to all the staff for taking such good care of me and my family.

Clean and authentic hotel with lots of character, with the ambiance of the nearby waterfall and river. An 11 course dinner of delicious traditional Japanese food, private and shared hot springs baths made with wood and river stone, surrounded by the beautiful forest, all made for a highly memorable stay.
