Bed is very spacious and well-equipped with heater, hot water bath and water kettle so guests can stay comfortably in extreme weather. It’s in convenient but quiet location where you can access ski resort about 20 mins ride and supermarket about 5 mins ride. It’s perfect for travellers who drive. Indoor and outdoor, private Onsen are also superb. Not to mention the Hida beef dinner (charged extra for it), it melts into your mouth.

The room was very big and the sleeping was very comfortable.
Breakfast and dinner was to die for! Make sure not to eat too much during the day, as you'll need the space in the evening.
Quality products and traditional kitchen!
The onsen was also very cosy, during the day as well as at night.

The outdoor Onsens were amazing. With 4 to choose from, they all had their own charm and temp. We were lucky to have the snow (8/12). Food was plentiful and staff was exceptionally warm.

What an experience it was! The rooms were comfy and quite spacious. The in-room Onsen bath was amazing. And the private open-air ones which can be reserved just add on the already superb experience. Would definitely come again.

We came here for a private onsen experience and that is what we got! As someone who is not comfortable being naked in front of others, this hotel was a great way to experience hot spring bathing without a traditional onsen experience. Our room had a bath tub that was continuously filling with hot spring water. The bath tub was surrounded by sliding doors which opened onto greenery. We went in late November so it was quite cold but perfect for a hot bath first thing in the morning with fresh morning, pine scented air rushing in. Glorious! We were too late to reserve a room that came with the dining experience so I cannot comment on the food. The hotel was so quiet - didn’t see or hear any other guest while we were there but based on our room being the only one available at the time of booking - the hotel must have been full! The staff were so helpful and so polite.

Absolutely everything. That staff, the tradition, the food, our room! Everything was well thought out and the whole experience was great for our mind body’s and souls. I have to expand on the staff. Everyone was so generous and helpful. The service even for Japans standards was very high! I would definitely recommend coming here for a retreat to relax with amazing food and relaxation. We will definitely be back in the future.

Rustic feels which transported us back in time. The staff were friendly and explained everything well. There are several locations for the onsens, and we enjoyed the ones next to the river best. Food was good generally, and we sat round the fire. The rooms were on the warm side.

We could not expect a better ending to our 3 weeks trip in Japan. Furusato was the best way possible to deep experience the Japanese Alps. Everything, from the staff, the food and the onsen was a magic experience.
