The staff were lovely and attentive and spoke fantastic English.
Information on the services available was written clearly in multiple languages, making it very easy to understand. There were also diagrams for using the public onsen, which was extremely helpful for a first-time user.
The food was absolutely delicious. The Hida beef course was well worth the additional cost.
The whole hotel had a quiet and calming atmosphere, which was perfect for relaxing in the onsens.

We loved the private onsen in the rooms!
The rooms were big and very clean. The hotel is surrounded by mountains, the view from the roof is wonderful. The view from the rooms (forest) is great, very calming.

The meals were incredible, the staff were very attentive, and the location is beautiful. Our room was spacious and had a private onsen. The two "public" onsens are lovely and overlook the river. The public onsens can be reserved and there was always at least one available. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience. For hikers, there is a mountain trail right outside Kakurean Hidaji.
