Tlaquepaque which is two blocks away is a wonderful and very safe place full of arts shops.

HOTEL DEX IS A GEM!!
Located in Tlequepaque, a neighbourhood adjacent to Guadalajara, Hotel Dex is a brand new hotel, the best option in our opinion. Situated on a relatively quiet street immediately next to colourful main Independencia Avenue.
Our room (205) was spacious with a large state of the art bathroom. Bed, bedding and pillows were particularly comfortable. Most attractive is the balcony overlooking the pool offering the option of sleeping in a quiet environment with a screened door for fresh air or using individual A/C. Additional assets are wooden floors and marble tiles, particularly minimalist design, even and acceptable water pressure and hot water.
At breakfast, coffee, fruits and muffins are included in the room fare.
Paula, responsable for welcoming and hosting (speaks English) and Carlos, responsable for other services, were very welcoming, professional and always eager to help. The other staff was also interested in providing good service.
