This ryokan provides free private parking, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. Guests also enjoy access to the hot spring bath and hot tub, as well as the public bath and open-air bath. The staff were so nice. The room and onsen were beautiful. The meals were delicious and they accommodated my friend’s allergy request with care.

The set-menu Japanese breakfast and dinner are served at the dining room. You must check in by 18:00 to eat dinner at the property. Guests who check in after this time may not be served dinner, and no refund will be given. I really liked the athmosphere of it. It felt like traditional Japan. We had half board that allowed us to try japanese food beyond what we would dare to order in a restaurant. The staff was exceptional!

Located in the Shibu hot-spring district, guests can enjoy indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths at Suminoyu. Massages can be requested and a footbath is also available for extra relaxation. A free shuttle is offered from Yudanaka Train Station, which is a 10-minute drive away. Everything, it was a wonderful authentic experience. Great service, pick up from and to Yudanaka, as well as to the Snowmonkey Park. Lovely stuff, lovely traditional room. Very clean and quiet and respectful. Futons were very comfortable. Beautiful dinner and breakfast. In the middle of charming Shibu Onsen, perfect for onsen-hopping. We enjoyed it very much.

A small 6-room inn with Ryokan meals and cosy interiors, Yasuragi is just a few minutes drive to Jigokudani Monkey Park and an 8-minute walk from Yudanaka Train Station. Hot-spring baths are featured. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and free pick-up service from Yudanaka Station is provided. Hospitality is the best word to describe our stay at Yudanaka Yasuragi. We also enjoyed an amazing breakfast. They kindly picked us up from the station and even gave us a ride to the monkey park. Located in the centre of Shibu hot-spring area and a 5-minute drive from Yudanaka Train Station, Sakaeya offers Japanese-style accommodations. Guests can enjoy the on-site indoor/outdoor public hot-spring bath and wear the provided colourful Japanese Yukata robes. You can watch monkeys bathing in hot-spring water at the Snow Monkey Park, a 10-minute drive away. This is a true Japanese cultural and cuisine experience that was the highlight of our holiday. The room with private Onsen and private bathroom was exceptional and much better than we imagined for a traditional Raikan and the Onsen experience was worth pushing our comfort zones for. The culinary offerings were incredible (even if many were not to our taste) they clearly pride themselves on perfection, symmetry and are proud of their cultural roots. Some of their dishes have been presented to the imperial household and wearing traditional clothing and private intimate dining you simply couldn’t ask for a truer traditional & cultural experience at the highest end. The Raikan bus to the snow monkeys is only a 5 minute drive and they ask for a small contribution to cover their costs. The private Onsen on the terrace was an absolute treat.

On just a 5-minute drive from Yudanaka Station, Wafu-no-Yado MASUYA features beautiful Japanese-style rooms, hot spring baths and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms boast a private outdoor hot spring bath.

Masuya Wafu no Yado is a 15-minute drive from the Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park, as well as from the Heiwa Kannon (Peace Statue). Zenko-ji Temple is an hour’s drive away. Wonderful stay! We enjoyed our time very much. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They prepared tasty vegetarian food for me.

Aburaya Tousen offers luxurious contemporary Japanese-style accommodation with an amazing 11 types of hot-spring baths and free WiFi. On just a 7-minute walk from Yudanaka Station, the hotel boasts outdoor hot spring baths with mountain views, a spa and a restaurant. Great hotel with fabulous onsen (both the room/private and the hotel guests onsen). Spacious and clean room and wonderful roof top bar experience. Staff at dinner, breakfast and at the roof top were an absolute dream of kindness and professionalism. During the private dinner the chef came to prepare the sushi by our table which was incredible. The food was absolutely exquisite using local produce and prepared and presented with such a delicacy as I've never seen before! What a treat! Walking distance from the station but possible to get a ride from the hotel (need to ask them in advance). A great place to stay!

A 3-minute walk from Yudanaka Station, Hotel Tsubakino features indoor and outdoor hot spring baths with a vista of snowy mountain peaks. The hotel offers Japanese-style rooms with free Wi-Fi.

From Tsubakino Hotel it is a 40-minute drive to Jigokudani Monkey Park, as well as to the Hokusai-kan Museum in Obuse Town. The best Ryokan we ever stayed! Absolutely amazing experience and the location is easily accessible by local train, bus station and by car.
