Family hotels and homes in Stewart Island

We were only able to book 2 nights if we were in different rooms. The first was more basic and the second had a sea view but in both rooms the beds were comfortable and we spent a lot of time in the lounge enjoying the view from there. We were allowed to check in early and could have bags held for us. The wifi was good. The staff were friendly and helpful especially as we were trying to find out about a historic family link to the island. It felt like the centre of island life.

It's a wee gem with lovely staff and owners that go out of their way , will be recommending it to family and friends

The motel manager, Donna, is so lovely and she definitely made our stay memorable. The facilities are incredible and location is great. Surrounded by birds, bush and a minute walk to Oban centre. I just wish that I could stay there longer. Our whole group including our toddler had one of the best holidays. Amazing.

We throughly enjoyed our stay. We bought our own breakfast as we had a baby with us. I would recommend it the best place
