Beautiful location and facilities, including the pool and winery with a tour explaining the organic grapes grown. The wine tasting with charcuterie tray was superb. We were thrilled to help with grape picking in the morning, receiving a basket of grapes to enjoy munching on. Each family member is friendly, kind and passionate about their business, also helping with the cheese factory location nearby.

Quinta Lourena is a hidden gem! A little oasis hidden south of Guarda. This quinta hotel is ideal for a retreat away from distractions and stress. The bed is comfy, the room is clean, the pool is perfect, the breakfast exceeded our expectations and the host is very welcoming and lovely including Lourena the cat which is the princess of this cherry Quinta. We stayed only one night because we were traveling, but this place is ideal for at least 3 days as a retreat.

I had an incredible experience there. Everything clean an sustainable, amazing breakfast and very helpful staff.

Situé à Covilhã (Région Centre), l’établissement Villa Regadio possède une connexion Wi-Fi gratuite, un parking privé gratuit et un bain à remous. In the country overlooking the valley and the town. Facilities were new and owner Sarah was super. After driving from Madrid and arriving around 3:30 we didn’t want the hassle of driving into town for dinner (town is typical rural Portugal) but every restaurant in the area delivers so we sat by the pool, had a beer or wine, jumped into the jacuzzi and waited for food. Bed very comfortable, shower great and lots of stars at night. There are not many rooms so we had the whole grounds to ourselves 😀 Plus the national park is in the vicinity for hiking the next day.

Perfect surroundings. Magnificent view from the apartment. Continental breakfast is perfect and very fresh. The Serra da Estrella natural park provides lots of trekking paths. In the Vila apartment you can enjoy a beautiful view while drinking wine in a jacuzzi :D The trekking during July might be hard due to high temperatures and due to high grass bushes on the path.

Several cozy, spacious rooms are set next to a beautiful river in the peaceful village of Sandomil. This charming bed and breakfast is where we always stay in this area because you are instantly relaxed and in vacation mode the moment you step foot on the property. This hotel is run by a lovely couple that are very hands on to your needs, very friendly and helpful to give you recommendations on restaurants, hikes and things to see in the area. They also make an amazing breakfast each morning and will make an amazing gourmet dinner upon request. The rooms are decorated with such personal touches and the views and tranquility of grapes, mountains and river views, you could sit and relax on a swing or lounge chair outside the room for hours. Sunsets with a glass of wine are amazing there also. I would highly recommend this!!

L’établissement Cantinho da Estrela se situe à Seia, à respectivement 29 km et 38 km de ces lieux d’intérêt : Plage artificielle Mangualde Live et Parc naturel de la Serra da Estrela. Petit village très mignon. Les hôtes sont très accueillants. Les chambres sont dans une maison très agréable avec un salon et une cuisine. Nous avons pu mettre des choses dans le frigo. Tout était parfait et surtout s’était très propre. Les hôtes possèdent aussi derrière la maison, un commerce où nous avons pu boire du café, de la bière, du jus… En plus nous sommes tombés sur une fête de village, où nous avons passé un moment festif et très agréable. Je recommande vivement cet endroit. Une belle surprise!

Situé à Guarda et offrant une vue sur le jardin, l’établissement Solar De Alarcao comprend un jardin, un salon commun, une terrasse et un bar. Une connexion Wi-Fi gratuite est à votre disposition. As you drive up to the house, you will drive all the way around the cathedral and enter parking on the backside of the cathedral. Depending on the number of cars parked in cathedral square, you might have to turn left around them to enter thru the gate of #25. If you see #27, do not continue on the road to the right. The entrance to parking in a gated courtyard is to the left of 27. Once you are there, however, the hostess is so very nice and the location is perfect. The home is beautiful, filled with antiques and charm, and there’s a pleasant garden to sit in. Our room was perhaps a little smaller than the average hotel room, but with a comfortable bed, super modern bathroom, and view of the garden. The house is air conditioned. We wished we’d planned 2 days to potter around Guarda and enjoy. As other guests have advised, there is one, big set of stairs you have to go up with your luggage. In the morning, breakfast is at the base of those stairs. No ramp or elevator. Breakfast was lovely: meat and cheese, cereal, fruit, bread, fresh jams, a sampling of cakes and coffee/tea/juices/water.

L’établissement Quinta do Limite - Agroturismo se situe à 31 km de ce lieu d’intérêt : Parc naturel de la Serra da Estrela. This was the best place we stayed in Portugal in a 3 week trip. The home is beautiful, and very well thought out. The bed was the most comfortable we slept in in Portugal. The views of the orchards and Serra de Estrella mountains in the distance were gorgeous. We loved wandering around the property and meeting the cats, dog, chickens (farm fresh eggs in the morning), goats and donkeys. There is also a pool with a great view, that we didn't use because of the cold weather. The breakfast was amazing, eggs, bread, homemade preserves, cold cuts, cheese, fruit and a most wonderful yogurt with cherries grown in their own orchard. But perhaps the best part was the hosts kindness and generosity. We felt most welcomed. When we got in late and didn't feel like driving back to a restaurant, she brought out some olives, cheese, fruit, bread and wine, and charged very little. It was perfect! We recommend staying enough days that you can really settle in and enjoy the place and explore the towns, valleys and mountains nearby.
