Situated in Dargle and only 25 km from Fort Nottingham Museum, Copperleigh Trout Cottages features accommodation with lake views, free WiFi and free private parking. This recently renovated farm stay is located 32 km from Midmar Dam and 36 km from Howick Museum. This 4-star farm stay offers private entrance. Not a single thing stands out that wasn't top notch. The owners are welcoming, warm and friendly, and offer any help they can, handing out eggs from their chicken and offering a canoe for great lake trips. One of the most beautiful and exquisite stays of my whole trip.

The farm stay provides garden views and an outdoor fireplace. We had a wonderful stay at Mziki Cottage on Penwarn Farm. The cottage sleeps seven (2 rooms with double beds, and a loft with 3 beds). It is perched it a lovely little valley and overlooks a dam that teems with birdlife. The view is great, with the majestic Drakensberg mountains in the distance. Inside, the cottage is beautifully appointed and has everything you could possibly need. Each bedroom and bathroom has its own heater, and the lounge is just as cosy, with a fireplace that warms the entire living area. One of the bathrooms even has a jet bath - perfect for a long soak after a day outdoors. The staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient. The cottage is serviced daily, which made it feel like a real break. We especially loved the verandah, where we spent hours just soaking in the view with a coffee or glass of wine in hand. There's a great braai area and even a ready-to-go bonfire -stacked with wood and just waiting to be lit. Honestly, every detail has been thought of. We didn’t want to leave!
