Our family recently visited Makini Bush Camp and we had an amazing time. The staff's kindness and helpfulness made our stay truly special. We were thrilled to witness incredible wildlife sightings, including graceful elephants, playful monkeys, and colorful birds. And the highlight of our trip was a breathtaking leopard sighting that left us in awe. The service provided was exceptional, and the staff went out of their way to engage our children. The cozy tented chalet allowed us to connect with nature while enjoying the comforts of a clean and well-maintained accommodation. We loved the property with its lovely designed gardens and tranquil swimming pool. The lodges are beautiful, extremely clean and comfortable and displayed in such a way that you have your own view without being overlooked by others. The team is wonderful and very professional. They organised our safari and we truly enjoyed sharing special moments and discussions with Praveen the manager who is passionate and goes the extra mile to make his guests feel welcome and special. The food is delicious - one of the best in Sri Lanka - and the atmosphere very relaxed. It’s a bit of paradise on Earth. Thank you Praveen for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable. We would definitely come back and stay.

Gorgeous location tucked away on a private chunk of land connected to Yala park. The staff are amazing and go out of their way to make sure you are safe and have everything you need. I can’t say enough about the food! We only stayed for one night as we were moving quickly between locations while there, but should have booked minimum 2 nights. Would be perfect location for a honeymoon. Amenities are out of this world. Our guide for the safari was very informative and easy to chat with. I was happy to hear that the company provides the guides who can explain the animals in English, but hire jeeps and drivers from the local villages to distribute the benefits of the tourism dollars around. Would 100% stay again and highly recommend.

We stayed in one of the beach cabanas, which was beautifully designed with a super comfortable bed and a fabulous shower. After returning from our safari, we were tickled to find the staff had left adorable towel art in the room—very cute and made me smile! Unfortunately, it rained heavily during our visit, so we didn’t get to use the pool, but it looked absolutely stunning. We booked the safari through the hotel, which was priced higher than other options at $180 per person. That said, we were lucky to spot two leopards despite the rainy weather. The driver was excellent—he knew the park well and made sure we didn’t miss any wildlife sightings. Overall, a luxurious experience that added a special touch to our Yala adventure.
