These are beautifully appointed bungalows that happen to feature tent-inspired rooflines and windows as an elegant nod to desert camping. Inside, you’ll find simple luxury: a spacious bathroom with double sinks, separate WC with bidet, rain shower with excellent water pressure, and a gorgeous large soaking tub. The interior showcases beautifully hewn desert wood and ceramic artworks that connect you to the local landscape, while maintaining sophisticated comfort. Maria’s design philosophy is genius—rustic minimalism that amplifies rather than competes with the desert’s natural serenity. The first morning, I woke to a perfectly framed view of an extinct Andean volcano, positioned like a living painting in my window. As the sun rose through that same frame, I realized this wasn’t just a lovely accommodation— it was theater designed by nature and enhanced by human artistry. Maria and Pablo, the hosts and owners, have transformed hospitality into an art form. They have created something remarkable: a culture of genuine care that permeates every interaction. This goes far beyond standard luxury service. When I mentioned interests in birdwatching, wellness, and astronomy, they didn’t just nod politely—they arranged personalized experiences that became trip highlights. Maria even arranged a visit to a local ceramicist’s desert studio, connecting us more deeply to the artisanal culture reflected throughout the property’s design.

The whole staff makes all the effort to make you feel special in your stay. Thats what makes Tierra far ahead of its competitors in Atacama. The food was also a hot topic. Very elaborate dishes and so beautifully presented. I would definitely recommend it to my family and friends.

This is a hotel decorated and cared with love. The ambient is amazing - truly relaxing! Pool area is really amazing and the rooms are very nice too. Due to its location slightly out of the city, it is also rather quiet (which we loved). They also offer some programs such as Pilates or Yoga, music show, etc. which is different every day.

Good location considering if you have a rent-a-car, because it’s couple of minutes away from the center of San Pedro de Atacama. But it is also doable if you walk ~ 10min walk. Friendly and helpful staff. Good security at the entry to the hotel property. Amazing massage at the hotel spa for a very reasonable price!!! 5 swimming pools at the property. Good breakfast and dinner. And I would also recommend trying Pisco Sour Rica Rica / Rica Rica is herb known for this region/this part of Chile (Antofagasta, San Pedro de Atacama). Big room and huge bed. Loved it! Indoor and outdoor shower in the room. Every day 4 complementary bottles of fresh water. Coffee capsules refilled every day. We stayed for 3 nights.
