What amazing hotel. This was my second time in Atitlan and last time I made the mistake of staying in a larger village. This time I chose a smaller village and Aviva hotel, and it was the perfect choice. The room was incredible, comfy bed, stunning views, tasty coffee and a terrace to relax. And the breakfast was sooo good. Run, don't walk to stay here if you visit lake atitlan.

This place is amazing. So sociable and you can swim less than five minutes away. Communal dinner is a great way to meet people and the food is gorgeous.
I loved my little dorm cabin with three beds. They have yoga classes, chill out areas, friendly staff and good vibes all round!

Hotel atitlan exceeded expectations and has been our favourite Central American hotel so far in our trip. The hotel photos maybe make the rooms a bit dark and dated but in fact they were charming and characterful, and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the restaurant food was great (dinner and breakfast) and the restaurant location is beautiful.
The grounds are stunning! If the national trust went tropical this is what you would get. Beautifully kept. The hotel is a little out of town ($4 tuk tuk) but that means you’re out of the bustle and noise of Pana.

Such a lovely hotel, really nice and clean. We had the upstairs room with two double beds and it even had 2 bathrooms. The balcony and view was gorgeous. I heard from others that it was noisy in the downstairs garden room but the room we had there was no issues (other than the usual dogs and cockerels which is pretty much everywhere). The jacuzzi is included and was fab, we used most nights. Has a pool table and table tennis too.
San Marcos is lovely but night time didn’t feel completely safe there to walk around too much with myself as a solo female with my son who is 8.
Room was cleaned every day!

Very friendly staff! Allowed us to check out late and leave our luggage whilst we explored. We then missed our boat to Panajachel and they let us stay an extra night with no hassle. Very comfy mattress, good wifi and super clean

La Iguana Perdida is a wonderful spot. The view on the lake is perfection, and dinners + activities organized at this hotel/hostel are a wonderful place to meet other travellers. The price is unbeatable for what you get! I was worried upfront (was not sure what to expect at this price), but ended up extending my stay with 1 night. 1 of the highlights!
