Villa Hillcrest is perfect for travellers looking for some downtime, as it is a super relaxing place nestled in the hills outside Weligama. A couple of kilometers away from Weligama beach and with some steep lanes leading up to it, it may be a little difficult to get to and fro from the beach via tuktuk, especially at night. With that said, it's a property that you would absolutely love if you want to simply lounge in the pool, enjoy a spacious villa to yourself and eat at the property itself. The pool is amazing, with a direct view of greenery overlooking Weligama beach. The food was delicious, and the staff is super helpful. We had a great conversation with the manager, and he made us some delicious off-menu mocktails as well on request!

De accommodatie beschikt over een buitenzwembad, gratis WiFi en gratis parkeergelegenheid. his was our best hotel out of 5 hotels we visited during our 2 week stay in Srilanka. my family consists of 2+2, and the ocean suite on the ground floor was perfect for us. It has direct access to the beach, pool and restaurant through the terrace window which is great when you have kids. The water in the pool is very warm so my kids spend long hours there, it also has two shallow areas which can be great for toddlers or for sunbathing in the shallow water. It is about 20 feet long so it was great for swimming too. The sunbeds were very comfortable and the view of the ocean was perfect. The breakfast consisted of coffee or tea, fresh juice, a fruit plate, a choice of muffin, croissants or my favorite banana bread and one of 11 amazing breakfasts a la carte. As for the noise from the street it wasn't a problem for me, you only notice it during the day if you want to spend some time in silence in your room. When you are next to the pool you will not hear it. At night drivers don't use their horns and the noise from the street is similar to the sound of ocean waves. I regret that I couldn't stay longer.

Lighting is warm and cozy.You can see beach and water right from your bed and wake up to thr sound of waves. Highly recommend.

The location was quiet, the room was clean and comfortable, and the lodge owners were very welcoming. There was AC, hot water, and a ceiling fan. Ideal if you have a scooter, as walking into the main part of Weligama is around 30 minutes. The room was great value for money.
