Originally scheduled to stay for a couple of nights, my wife and I ended up with a serious case of the flu on arrival. We managed to extend our stay by an extra 3 days. This was a lifesaver for us and our dogs. The staff here are exceedingly kind and helpful, and I mean all of them. We have stayed at lots of places, at both ends of the spectrum but the Montreal is a whole other level of great. Beds,rooms,bathroom,balcony and basically everything else is top notch,100% spot on. Thank you so much for looking after us.

The Villa is perfectly sited between the centre and the Botanic Gardens and is a beautifully maintained classic building. The rooms are spacious and our bed was very comfortable. There's air con if needed. One of the highlights was breakfast, which was tasty, and an opportunity to have a chat with other travellers at round the communal tables with plentiful supplies of tea and coffee.

The staff were very helpful & kind. Sadly, our flight was changed and our stay at The George was shortened a bit. I wish we could have stayed longer. The room was comfortable, spacious, clean, and inviting. The heated floors on the bathroom were very nice. When 8 make it back to Christchurch one day, I will definitely book a stay at The George.
