Both onsens were amazing. The staff were very kind. Food was out of this world, all sourced from the area. We had a Cedar tub in our room and it was great for soaking, plus it hae an amazing view.

We had an excellent stay, food and presentations were exquisite. We admired the thought that went into presenting food in dishes that are compatible with the “mood” of the food. Only 5 minutes walk to the lift. Staff were professional, rooms were comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed our stay.

Nice traditional Japanese ryokan. Spacious room, nice and helpful staff, mountain view, and great location in Zao onsen. The downside is the hotel is so great we don’t want to go out and explore the town.

Staff are friendly and they can speak simple English. Breakfast and dinner are delicious. Room is big and provided the charge cables. Spa is good. Also, there is a big car park on the ground floor.

Staff is sooo friendly and helpful with everything. There is shuttles to the station every 20minutes and the rooms are so spacious and clean and with attention to detail - we loved it. The outside Onsen is beautiful and tattoo friendly.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. We tried the private onsen and it was also an amazing experience. This was an amazing ryokan experience, with traditional Japanese decoration and beautiful and relaxing views of the gardens from the bedrooms, dining room, and public bath. The dinner and breakfast were exceptional and deserve a special mention! It is worth going even if just to experience fine Japanese cuisine.
