The Highgrove Guest House is a gorgeous place to stay! Small-scale, comfortable, calm, and luxurious in the best thinkable way. Chris is the unprecedented host, like your favorite uncle! Meeting up by the airport upon arrival, serving marvelous sour-dough toast when we had arrived to the guest house, serving delicious breakfasts, cooking excellent dinner only for my wife and me, driving us to the rental car pick-up, and following up and caring over Whats App several days after we left Johannesburg. Not only is the place in an easy location but they made sure to think of everything you could ever need. The rooms are spacious and extremely clean. Could have hunkered down there for the entire vacation. Breakfast is amazing and Mark and Sheryl were so friendly and accommodating. There is nothing like the generosity and hospitality of South Africa, and Leigh exemplifies this. She prepared delicious meals for us as we arrived late in Jhb one night and wanted a relaxed evening outside with friends the second. It felt such a treat to spend the evening outside at their lodge. Leighwood lodge has a beautiful, oasis like garden attracting all types of birds. We misplaced an item which Leigh effortlessly ensured made its way to us in Cape Town. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Location ideal. Close enough to the airport. Highly recommend Leighwood lodge for business and tourist travelers.
